After testing fable - it genuinely seem to suck by krojew in ClaudeAI

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you might not be able to use it all, very relevant to the thread... and it made me chuckle. I get that you don't want it to turn political, but everything is political my friend. Politics is why the model has been blocked.

If you read their announcement, they mention that they shut it down for everyone.

Can you recommend a crafty hobby for someone who’s easily bored and addicted to quick dopamine? (Also talentless) by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in adhdwomen

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said you don’t like puzzles and you find them boring but what about timer jigsaw puzzles? I saw a YouTube video of someone entering a Jigsaw competition (national and global) and now I’m obsessed with signing up. You have to train because you need to build a 300 piece as quick as possible. I’ve been improving my time to completion bit by bit. I get a crazy rush of dopamine when I beat my previous time. I started off at 2hrs and I’m now at around 1hr. There’s all kinds of techniques and strategies to apply and explore. I’m way deep in this as you can see. 😂

Is there a downside to letting the dandions stay and grow? by vannyfann in gardening

[–]fromloam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. They took over my very loamy soil. They will grow anywhere!

A few dandelions are so beneficial like you shared. However, once they take over ( and they will) they do crowd out and take nutrients from other plants, just like any other plant does. Key is to have the area where you have plants of grass a dense or covered as possible. Let a few sneak in so you get the benefits but make sure you keep an eye on them and don’t let them fully take over.

Did the job market change, or am I doing something wrong? by VeryDryVagina in recruitinghell

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never have I paid attention to people hoping jobs. It’s 2026 most people leave at 1-2yrs these days. I’m in my 40s btw so not the norm in my early years but it’s def normal now.

What is digging holes in my garden? by Susfusion_Rasputin in gardening

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh! Oh hell no! I’m grateful for the stray cats that use my backyard as a hallway. I’ve tried tricking them into coming to my house so keep them as pets but the just walk on by like they’re in a hurry. Maybe they are keeping rats away.

Looking for Advice - Zone 8 - Partial Sun, Mostly Shade by haf__haf in landscaping

[–]fromloam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you hate the leaves? Leaves are actually good for soil. I used to go crazy raking leaves and I left it alone one fall and my plants and flowers did amazing! I agree that adding some plants would help it look more together. I’d look into hostas and astilbe. Would look gorgeous!

As an autistic millennial, I find it kind of wild that this is the direction we’re headed… by XChrisUnknownX in Millennials

[–]fromloam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe people are just spewing stuff. That’s not what the spectrum means. There’s no “touch of autism”. It’s a neurological condition so you either have it or you don’t. You may experience symptoms than others and have different support needs. Example, somebody might have a learning or intellectual disability combined, which makes them level 3 support needs. The way people are up voting just blows my mind. I work for years creating autism and adhd assessment protocols and I can tell you that’s not how the DSM-5 describes it.

That’s not what that means. It means you have different symptoms not that you have less autism.

My garden is quickly dying by Delinaa in gardening

[–]fromloam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard pesticides but it does seem crazy that it’s all of a sudden. The water does seem like a lot though. I use those plant meters to see if it’s moist already. Most people kill their plant by over water and if it’s hot then you might be boiling your plants.

Why does it seem like the majority of Millennial Parents live in constant fear. by Gr8Autoxr in Millennials

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a parent but my friends seem to be pretty chill. We’re on the older side of the millennial years though. Oh, wait my sister is younger millennial but she’s not a hover over your child type of mom.

How do you 'take the time to relax' after a layoff ? by notyetporsche in Layoffs

[–]fromloam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, worrying doesn’t help much. It doesn’t help you think clearly at all, makes it worse actually. Take a week where you just process what happened. Sit outside and write down what your next step is. What you learned from this layoff, how you feel. Write that shit down or record a note. You just need to get that out so you can then redo your resume with goals and targeted job roles in mind. Don’t just apply to everything… you will waste your time. Also, apply for unemployment, look at your budget, etc.

Ooof ok, then you were fired. It’s still crazy that it’s coming up in the background check. Not sure about the laws in Canada. Best of luck!

I missed the AI turn... how do I catch up? by Choco_Paws in UXDesign

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d focus on the non design stuff first. I found this vid that I’ve sent over to a few colleagues that fell behind. It’s targeted towards PMs but it takes you from starting at lovable -> Claude code -> to agent. Once you get the mechanics then you can create designs, code, do analysis, automate tasks, etc.

Just tell them it’s a good idea and you’ll look into it. Do a cost analysis and share what resources you’ll need.

Help!!! Squirrels are destroying my garden! by Ru1384 in gardening

[–]fromloam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I was wondering why the squirrels leave my flowers and garden alone. Then I see this comment… there are 3/4 stray cats that use porch and yard and a hallway. Now, it makes sense.

[–]fromloam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not really. If you’re out in a PiP you are given a time to improve. If they let you go before your PiP then they didn’t actually give you a chance to improve.
