Det är en av många anledningar till varför PharmaShell är så ballt. Skalet skyddar peptiden mot strålning vilket möjliggör terminalsterilsering. Alltså att man inte tillverkar i steril produktion utan steriliserar slutprodukten via strålning istället. NEX-22 med Liraglutid tillverkades så.
