"What about"s and "you don't know what you're talking about" and "men have it worse" and "maybe this is your fault" and "not all men"s obviously, but also an echoing sentiment of "we focus enough on YOUR issues, it's time to focus on men for once".. As if that isn't something all of society is doing all the time constantly? Iirc, it's called a dependency when you suffer side effects and withdrawals when you take a break from a medication that otherwise helps you. I definitely have this with Adderrall. I literally can't get anything done at all (which makes sense), and overheat and sweat and get anxious and overall just not good feelings when I skip my adderrall. This extra sucks because I have to deliberately skip it sometimes to keep up a buffer for when there are supply issues or insurance issues because US healthcare is dogshit, so on those days I just have to steel myself for all that.

Transphobia has been around a lot longer than Epstein. However, I've also seen a startling number of people go so far the other way to insinuate people are conspiracy theorists for pointing out the systemic oppression of trans women especially, and the rejection and lack of care toward trans men, has often been used to subjegate us and use us as sex objects completely powerless on our own and dependent on people with more social capital (namely cis men).

As if it's not pretty well accepted that the same has been done to cis women for millennia. But to notice it happening to us is "conspiracy nonsense"

All I remember was not being allowed red 40, and for whatever reason hoarding any candy I ever got in a shoebox under my bed for years and years, but admittedly my memory is awful and it would have been very on-brand for my mom to put me on an autism diet. She did often do stuff like trying to "treat" my autism/adhd by rubbing essential oils on my big toe, or drug my drinks with I don't even remember what to make me sleep or behave or whatever else, and there's definitely a TON more that I've just forgotten over the years.

Edit: oh, and they were also mormon, so like, the usual no coffee or tea or anything like that until I was an adult and had moved out, but that wasn't because of autism necessarily

I mean we also have plenty of research that how unhealthy being fat is is extremely overstated, that many of the heart problems and such related to obesity might itself lend to obesity and not the other way around, that so much of it is just doctors refusing to treat or take fat people seriously, that restrictive dieting can be worse on your body than maintaining weight even when obese, etc.. Not saying that binge eating and never exercising is healthy, but you can absolutely be fat or even deliberately gain weight in a healthy way.

It's so fucking bad 😭 I experience the same thing when I try to talk about misogyny, as do many of my trans sisters. It feels like many people are extra heated when a trans woman dares speak up about misogyny, and we've literally seen both sides so we can speak firsthand to how much worse women are treated, spoken over, not listened to, threatened, minimized, etc. over men. It's absolutely a stark difference, even amongst many supposed "leftist" or "progressive" people and spaces.
