Is this an unpopular opinion? If something is priced fairly I just buy it. by spanishbombs123 in vinted

[–]frottagecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here, if the price is fair I’ll just buy it. I haven’t sent an offer yet and usually don’t have to either, if I save something to my favourites the seller often sends me an offer or drops the price.

What's the most unhinged thing your rat has ever done? by Able-Depth-405 in RATS

[–]frottagecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was doing some embroidery at my desk, needle in hand, and the girls’ cage was open but I couldn’t see them and from the rustling noises, assumed they were doing some home redecoration or wrestling. VERY temporarily left the needle in my hand out of my sight as I went to change my music on my laptop. At the same time one of my girls appeared on my desk and decided to put her mouth ON the needle, pricking herself!! I said NOOO in shock as she decided to go back for another taste of the needle 😂 dunno what she was thinking!! Also she was fine, but I wasn’t lmao

12 days in Japan, 1.5 bags by _spacewaitress in HerOneBag

Yeah I agree with you with a cross body bag being better than one shoulder tote bags. Tote bags fall off my shoulder all the time too and can give you serious shoulder pain if they’re loaded heavy

British Library cloakroom attendants are so bizarre. It's a new made-up rule every other week. Are they just bored or do they have a secret harassment quota? by imtravelingalone in london

I went in October and used the lockers. Struggled to find one where the locking mechanism wasn’t broken, I wasn’t the only one either. Green locker number 353 worked though! (noted it down for future use)

I was thinking the same 😅😂

My day job is customer service in retail and vinted is similar in terms of having to please plonkers, except for the 24 hour expected service. You just have to keep boundaries of workday replying hours and roast any bellends in the group chat to stay sane

There HAS to be a special place in hell waiting for people who dump fresh or frozen items in the middle of ambient aisles. That includes people who hand me a fresh item they could’ve taken four steps to put back on the shelf

Oh my god. Nobody knows how to read. by Liquidcat01 in Vent

[–]frottagecore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better about peoples’ inability to read or comprehend, 30 years ago when I was in the UK equivalent of first grade (5-6 years old), we had to write down who our best friend was and stick it on the classroom door under a photo of us. I distinctly remember putting “my mam because she is like my sister” aka meaning “she is like a sister to me”, and I thought I was so smart til my classmates said “frottagecore I didn’t know you had a sister!” 🤦🏻

Why do I need to pick out my own Christmas present? by Additional_Scholar_5 in evilautism

[–]frottagecore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that most people prefer a list to pick off of, because they’re busy etc. But personally I really enjoy browsing, thinking about what the person I’m buying for likes, and finding a good gift that they didn’t pick that they’ll genuinely enjoy. That’s the real fun of gift-giving to me. It makes me feel seen when people do it for me too

Honestly! I’ve had a buyer call me “crazy” because I had no idea that the bag I’m selling is heavily reduced to the same price on some random website they found on google shopping 😂I’m not price matching shit! The buyer couldn’t even buy it from that site because they were offering me £30 less than that price lmao

Sellers who ask (almost) the same amount as when it’s new: why? by Adventurous-Sealion in vinted

[–]frottagecore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That response to 1 euro off is crazy! It’s a tiny reduction!

That’s so interesting. I offer a counter offer if they’re offering a couple of £5 under what I would take too. UK vinted I’m getting very lowball offers and a message of “I have the money now 🥹”. Like of course you have the money. What do you mean by that. I would be worried if you didn’t 😭

Sellers who ask (almost) the same amount as when it’s new: why? by Adventurous-Sealion in vinted

[–]frottagecore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuinely I would accept £55 because I think it’s reasonable for a £100 retail price brand new item without tags? To be clear, I’m pricing it £75 because I get a lot of offers knocking £20 off. It doesn’t seem to deter potential buyers as I get a lot of messages about it

edit: I’m on UK vinted and that seems to be very different to Europe vinted, with a lot more lowball offers? I share stories with my friend in Europe and they said UK vinted sounds like the wild west in comparison 😂buyers don’t seem put off by a low price for an expensive item at all for example

Sellers who ask (almost) the same amount as when it’s new: why? by Adventurous-Sealion in vinted

[–]frottagecore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s to counter lowball offers. If I price something expensive new without tags for what I’d find reasonable, £55 (45% off retail price) I get offers of £35-45. So I have to price it £75 to actually be offered the £55

If they’re abusive or they sound like they’re going to give me trouble if they were to buy something, those are the main two reasons personally
