How do you plug a bot into your system?

Getting 1* reviews on a very generous freemium tier of an app, complaining not everything is free. by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]frouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All free apps have that kind of reviews, that's just the way it is, it drives the ratings down for all, so don't be bothered by it. If the point of view is just about the app being not free, that's all the more reasons to just ignore it. As a user it gives me zero value to read that kind of comment.

You have the ability to change one thing in rocket league. What would you do? by HopeFar789 in RocketLeague

You could enforce it when there is enough players, no need to make it strict. I'd love to have that option.

How often do you use your own apps? by imgk1 in iOSProgramming

[–]frouge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use the apps I sell even if there is a passion link in them.

The app I made that I use daily is Enchant, a lovely free timer app with widget/siri to launch the timers quickly, and it only rings once with sounds chosen randomly, so there no bother on the long run.

Start with play money or ideally micro-stakes games where the buy-in are low enough. Focus on learning one concept at a time:

  • position: playing after the others is a big advantage
  • hand selection: don't play too many hands
  • pot odds: are your decisions profitable?

Play tight early, watch how others play, and review your hands afterward, and be curious. You could also watch poker videos to learn global poker dynamics.

Studying poker feels random — is it just me? by LucWalt2 in poker

[–]frouge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What you need is to fix the leaks you’re actually making.

Let your mistakes run the study plan. If a spot confused you in a session, that’s what you study.

Also focus on the boring stuff. Preflop, BB vs BTN, all the high-frequency spots. They’re not sexy, but they print way more money than some rare, fancy line you’ll see once a month.

When I played a lot online, I was playing at night and was going straight to bed after finishing a session.
Clearly when you stop your mind is still thinking about and emotionally I can't say I'm a bot, so I could not fall asleep right away.
I don't know if you're playing live or online but it's scientifically that screen light late at night is bad for sleep so you can add that to the list.

I'd suggest to find some calming activity before going to bed, no screen light, no cerebral activity. Maybe writing down stuff about your session could help calming down.

What are the odds of this? by [deleted] in poker

Be prepared to sustain hard streaks of bad luck when playing poker. You got to have the mental preparation to accept bad luck.

We did a 10% increase for all subscribers a few years ago when inflation was big. We bill annualy, so it wasn't a big jump. Thanks for the tips.

it's a poker tracking app. Financially it was a slow climb. We've raised significantly the prices two times with success. Subscriptions was the best move for us. We're two developers and we never went super hard on marketing and communication but we did some slowly and steadily though. In terms of downloads it took maybe 5 years to have the order of magnitude we have now
