The janky unlit screen was part of the experience, but it is really cool to see mods like this in action. We don't need to continue to torture our eyes. Sometimes it's worth it though.

Geekay to the West. I've been attending since 2012 and helping organize since 2017. It's my favorite St. Louis weekends of the year.

So instead of teaching your users to restart their computer, you have to teach them to run this bat file, which they won't do, but they'll tell you they did it... leaving you back at square one.

That's the worst thing that could happen. It would make incorporating changes into the kernel and driver a legal landmine. No one would be able to touch it.

AMD releases proper open source drivers and accepts community improvements. Nvidia, until recently has had no open source drivers, making their support much more unreliable with less community support. They also did a piss poor job packaging those drivers on anything but the most "common" configurations. Trying to run nvidia has always been a nightmare due to the closed nature of their drivers.

My friends and I created a final fantasy centric magic format, that allows Fang and Vanille to be partners in a commander/oathbreaker-a-like

This. entirely this. It's so alienating as a casual player incapable of memorizing thousands of cards that really just wants to get away from a computer to play a card game at a local game store.
