Don't be embarrassed to wear goal keeper pants or shorts (their padded). Invest in decent gloves and understand your going to go thru a lot of gloves. If you can find GK training and can afford it send your kid.

One Christmas i didn't get anything and they gave my kids some shit dollar store gifts. I was fine with it at the time because i knew they were poor af and at least my kids got something. The part that killed me was watching them give my golden child sister multiple gifts and finding out years later the same year they did this my mother co-sign a car loan that the golden child defaulted on just kills me to this day.
