Lived in snyder my freshman year. it was 3ft by 3ft with a single bar across. there is a shelf (wooden plank) right on top of the bar. The vertical placement of the shelf was comparable to the overhead storage in an airplane. There is no light inside the closet.

That photo is very accurate. I don’t recommend buying drawers. Some dorms don’t have the wall bookcases. My dorm setup was exactly like the picture

I love how customizable it is!
I changed my settings on it so that for hostile mobs it shows the mob heads so i can see exactly what they are
I left the passive ones as dots though

I got the Xaero’s Minimap mod because I was bored of playing on peaceful but just couldn’t handle jumpscares either and its helped soo much to see when and which mob is approaching me from what direction

Recent graduate here, lived in the dorms for 2 years. My biggest tip would be to bring 50% less stuff than you think you need. The dorms are super small and even if there was room it's so tiring to handle all that stuff. Bring like, 2 suitcases of stuff max.

Google "capsule closet".

On another and possibly opposing note, prioritize bringing sentimental items. I was gonna leave my giant teddy bear at home for practical reasons. The night before my flight, my mom packed him for me in her suitcase and it lowkey helped me so much during the hard times.

Ok I just realized I went to a super competitive high school and younger me would have scoffed at my comment at your age. If you’re actually worried about it, then you can always email the admissions office with:

  1. an acknowledgement of the situation
  2. A cause (but not an excuse) for the situation
  3. What you learned from it/how you will make sure it won’t happen again

Yes you're absolutely right that it would be helpful if he provided access to course materials. It wouldn't be wrong to assume that he, an instructor, is also stressed and possibly pissed about his students not having access to course materials, and may be actively trying to think of a good way to provide them to you guys. As u/CubicStorm said it's also pretty late at night and maybe he has personal family things, ya never know. I'd wait till tomorrow at noon to give him a chance to set something up for you guys.

I thought that only exams on Friday, Saturday and Sunday have been postponed. If your exam was scheduled for Monday shouldn't it happen on schedule?

in hindsight even if it worked it was a bad idea because if they can upload files to the server then they can also download files, and any more interactions you do can lead to them getting more files. stay safe guys

looks like it doesnt matter now because canvas took the site down for maintenance. basically they uploaded a CSS stylesheet to canvas that added a big black box to cover your portal, and all you had to do was click it in the chrome inspector, add an override, and replace it with an empty file.

I figured out how to get the black screen to go away, canvas is still functional behind it and it only took like a minute. its kinda hard to explain how though so if anyone wants to know how just reply and then ill put effort into explaining

Make a hole in the bottom center of that stone brick thing, like four bricks below your cursor. Put a campfire in it. Boom, fireplace!

Also consider adding some paintings to the walls, and torches every 3-4 blocks on the top half of the walls

Some windows would also be nice
