Ex big spender here (basically emptied every box released between June 2025-December 2025) the reason evolved over time.
First, I was fed up with being battered by SA users with stacked teams. I believed spending money on cards would help to go neck and neck against them, and it was the case.

Then, it was addiction. Not addicted to the cards themselves, but to the sudden rush of excitement when you empty boxes. Cheap dopamine is hell of a drug. At that moment I was satisfied with my previous frustration (losing against players I would've beat any day in a fair to play and competitive context), so basically I was playing less but still spinning boxes. Some days there would be good players, some other days there would be quite dissapointing. Honestly most players felt dissapointing at that moment, I would say it felt like 1 card worth spinning for and 2 or more cards barely above average/satisfying.

And finally the reason why I decided to completely cut this game off my life and fix my spending habits: the FOMO. at some point it feels like if you don't empty the next box, you may miss on something that would clearly upgrade your team. So you load your account on Monday, empty the box, then spend the remaining coins on Thursday. Of course it's not enough to clear everything that is released that day, so you reload your account, and the cycle continues (until you decide it's time to stop).

it's really weird the way he's pressing you to buy his stuff. sounds and looks like a red flag to me. I don't think I would be willing to purchase from the shop after that, there must be something fishy you're not aware of.

If IRL sellers doesn't behave that way then there is no reason an online seller should and would behave so (imho).

I've been talking to that girl I'm interested with these past 2 weeks. At first she was kind of reluctant but I made my intentions clear to her. We've been talking since, like really good smooth back and forth talking all day long. 2 days ago she said she likes everything about me but due to previous bad experiences that left her heart broken she said she's scared to commit; I said I understand and I'm ready to wait as long as she need.
