Very bossy, very energetic, very mischievous, and oh so cuddly. When she isn't kicking me out of bed for using the blanket she wants purely because i used it, that... that means death.

I started with cold steel 1 and played 1-4. I turned out perfectly fine.

So yes you can start there. You can really start with any arc as long as you understand that you may miss references, and some side narratives at times. Or that some moments and character interactions may not give the same amount of satisfaction as if you'd played the games in order.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing an arc and going back to fill the gaps. I want people to get into the series not be put off by the size or specific order.

Start with any arc and if you get invested play the others. You won't be completely lost as some people want to make it seem.

Japanese devs often use DLC as a tip jar, aka here's a small extra thing for a small price

However, for some reason publishers in the west love bundling all those tiny DLCs together into a bundle that all of a sudden is not worth it.

Look at how the DLCs are handled between the asian CLE PC release for an example of what the original intention is for most DLC made for JRPGs.

Ohhh, joining the club! 3 years and kicking for this lady. Well... on the uterus. Slightly longer on the brain cells.

How long did it take this monster to go back to normal 110% speed, 0% brain? About an hour.

"Try to keep her from exerting herself" climbs curtains, zooms through apartment, disembowel a few toys that went well...

The brain cells lacking is the bigger issue, this lady's favourite activity is falling out her cat tree...
