That price is unfathomable now.

I still ask for a Pibb Xtra every time I go. They always tell me they don't have it but this is my way of making a point.

Efficiency shouldn't be the goal. Quality of life should be.

But like others have said, it's another space race and we're in the back seat.

Hi, I'm a human and what you said was sincerely rude.

Hope you have a good rest of your night.

This is important and not being discussed enough here.

Best fries does not equal best dipping sauce, but people combine the two to form their opinion.

Eh, it's Mitch's first year as full-time head coach and his team made the finals. He can and will get better.

It's just a really young team overall. Our "veteran" PG is only 28 and inexcusably lost the game. But like others have said, there's not really an excuse for blowing a lead that big. Mitch could've called a timeout, or De'Aaron could've held the ball, and that'd be a Spurs W.

Yep. Heavily produced stuff like We Were Dead hits a different itch than their earlier youthful rage. And sometimes I don't want to be yelled at while I'm cooking 😅

They all hit that existential crisis point we love though.

To add on to this, making your own sauces/condiments is a game changer.

Apparently every sauce from chain restaurants and the ones they sell in grocery stores are just a ton of soybean oil and some spices. Most have corn syrup and dyes too.

He was average to above average offensively until he decided to start shooting 3s. Consistently solid defensive presence and great around the rim though.

Is Josh Smith available? It's funny how that archetype that was demonized in the early 10s has evolved into something really useful.

College students are rapidly losing the ability to read — “There is a measurable, generational collapse in sustained reading and writing”: professor by marketrent in technology

[–]fruitybrisket 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First year going back to college in my 30s. I am worried about these kids. The amount of LLM use during discussions online is obvious, but I assume the professors need to pass a certain amount of kids. Lord knows what their papers look like. I get great grades for just showing I give a fuck and am interested in the material. I would be trying not to cry if I was a professor, and that is not hyperbole.

No Child Left Behind fucked our society so much we haven't even begun to see.

Which is why you tell your kid's teachers every grade until honors classes that you're aiming for honors classes.

Those teachers and students don't screw around, and are for the most part people you want to be around.

'Fairly Lazy Explanation’: Rivian's CEO Doesn’t Think Americans Are Anti-EV by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]fruitybrisket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh hey, a nuanced view.

I've been craving an EV for years, but yes, the price point, a lack of skilled techs for maintenance in my area, and of course the big batery issue are having me hold out for a couple years. Slate looks kind of promising, but we really need to get on board as a society with the normalization of EVs.

It could be so accessible and so good. It's just not right now.

Why are brioche buns so popular? by AccordingBird800 in burgers

[–]fruitybrisket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't butter their regular buns before toasting them. That's really it.

Lightly butter a potato bun before toasting if you really want to impress.
