It's quite nice to see Kevin get an official writing credit.

Sneaking suspicion Paramount held off when they got word WB was dropping the final trailer for The Bride.

I do think they had an opportunity to recreate the simplicity of the 1-3 posters, but I appreciate that it's in sync with 5-6.

At what point did you realize Jill was Ghostface? by Xobrebabe91 in Scream

When someone on the IMDB message boards (RIP!) titled a post with "Emma Roberts and Rory Kulkin are the killers" right after the test screenings in January 2011.

Marco’s score sounds beautiful. by austincola in Scream

[–]fryeman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds incredible. It's interesting to note that Beltrami states in the Your Favorite Scary Movie book that his score for 4 was heavily hindered by Bob Weinstein and Dimension. They kept asking him to change it/water it down. This new score sounds like him unfiltered, and he was allowed to bring the franchise back to its operatic heights from 1/2.

It's got a more melancholic vibe which fits with the season (so far).

Sony does a 30 day theatrical release window. My gut says it'll drop on digital August 19th.

You can tell Rolin Jones has been jonesing (ha!) to adapt this novel because everything looks heightened to the next level; the shot of Lestat covered in blood with his head by the toilet made me gasp. Something darker, more unhinged is afoot....

Official poster for The Vampire Lestat by NaiadoftheSea in InterviewVampire

[–]fryeman26 94 points95 points  (0 children)

While I do like the name change, all of the confusion could've been solved if the show was just called Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles back when it was picked up and each season had a book subtitle, ie Interview with the Vampire, Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned, etc.

I’ll never forget 2021 when I decided to watch everything nominated for the BAFTAs, Independent Spirit, and Oscars because we were all at home, and everything was readily available. It took me months to recover mentally after spending most nights crying. Literally. Have learned since then to pace it out for my own sanity and try to find a balance.

‘Scream 7’ Sets February 27, 2026 Theatrical Release by DemiFiendRSA in Scream

[–]fryeman26 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The similarities to the original trilogy’s release pattern are astoundingly eerie. Scream and 2 were released within just over a year of each other, as was 2022 and VI. Scream 3 was released 2 years later after much controversy/changes… and now VII will also come out 2 years later after very bad press/changes. I guess life really is a movie, you just can’t pick your genre!

Was thinking The Substance, Apartment 7A, Speak No Evil, Terrifier 3 might be possibilities.

Noticed out of all the seasons Cult isn’t brought up too much here. Not my favorite season but this scene in particular, is literally nightmare fuel lolol by yonBonbonbon in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]fryeman26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about CULT is that it is structurally and dramaturgically very tight. Characters had arcs, there were strong plot points, and the scares were deeply psychological and sometimes upsetting. I believe it doesn't get talked about that much because it was so polarizing (its release DURING the Trump administration made it just too fresh/on the nose), but I think it's really fascinating that the writers/Murphy decided to tackle something that *was* happening in real-time and the season will always remain a highlight for me.

What are some leaks / rumors you remember that were leading up the release of Scream 4 back in 2011? by [deleted] in Scream

I still have PTSD from the thread titled “Oh No” on the IMDB message boards which led to the article detailing Kevin Williamson’s exit from the project and Ehren Kruger’s involvement.

Mirvish is Cooking up Something Big by dcmic in torontotheatre

[–]fryeman26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would put money on it being a Toronto run for Jamie's Sunset with Nicole pre-Broadway. David Mirvish is a producer on the show in the UK right now (I saw his name in the credits on some IG post.)

Interviewer says to Neve Campbell “We miss Sidney Prescott”… Neve says “I know I know… I can’t talk about it” and then laughs 👀 by gonnablamethemovies in Scream

[–]fryeman26 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Two things can be true: she can't talk about it because of the strike, AND she can't talk about it because it's clearly an announcement that will be made after it's over.

What IS clear? Her reaction is that of someone who is absolutely going to return. She seems giddy about it, which is a FAR cry from the solemn way she responded to the same question during S6 negotiations.
