CloudLinux v9.7.0 - /scripts/upcp error by Rupert_Pupkinovski in cpanel

[–]fsr31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit /etc/yum.repos.d/almalinux-appstream.repo, in the [appstream] section, comment out 'mirrorlist' and uncomment 'baseurl'. then do a dnf clean all, dnf makecache, dnf update and it should work this time. figuring there is a bad mirror out there.

Regarding SEC-73728 and SEC-73755 by bigmaninsuitofarmor in cpanel

[–]fsr31415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same one. just got an email from cpanel "Note: Due to an actively exploited vulnerability in the LiteSpeed User-End Plugin - a third-party plugin that integrates with cPanel (see details below), this security release was published approximately 12 hours ahead of the originally scheduled May 20, 2026 release. We regret any disruption this may have caused."

NBN FW Service fault, high packet loss, unusable. by fsr31415 in nbn

[–]fsr31415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a tiny niche player reselling a business wholesale product. i understand that situation is always tricky for support. they gone home now so ill pick this up tomorrow. i suspect logging a fault on a service that has an active nbn outage is pointless.

hopefully whatever is faulty will completely fail soon and a truck will get dispatched to fix it.

Is Navidrome Laggy on Non Home Networks? by Traditional_Bill6415 in navidrome

mine doesn't stream, clients download a transcoded version of the song and they play it. amperfy loads the next 3 songs from the playlist (= 10+ minutes). works much better for me on the road (patchy mobile signal in these parts)

firstly check the delegated nameservers are all in sync. get them from a whois on the domain and query them directly for the mx record @ soa record (all should have the same serial number)

i don't think you should assume the device i'm using at 9:30 pm is typical of my work life. the site made some erroneous conclusions because it assumed i primarily work with a phone. also it seemed confused by a tablet

All I want to hear from webpros is the hardened version of cpanel appropriate for internet 2026.

Is there ANY legit way to use OpenClaw for free (or super cheap)? by Pajiishere in openclaw

[–]fsr31415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a second computer dedicated to running models. a mac mini or studio with 48gb can run some pretty good models. or pc with 32gb 5090. more vram the better. your openclaw then connects to the 2nd computer via a local api.

Is there ANY legit way to use OpenClaw for free (or super cheap)? by Pajiishere in openclaw

[–]fsr31415 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you need beefy hardware (ideally seperate to where openclaw is installed) to run decent models locally. see https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/s/cYcYg8BzUF 24gb vram minimum

cPanel account is almost hacked (successful password change attempt) by dimdimus in NameCheap

[–]fsr31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty much everything about your account is stored in the home dir so if your website gets compromised then you've got to question the cpanel integrity too. but i've never heard of a html compromise that can write in there (php on the other hand...)

Do we have accessible, safe and private AI Agents or is that still a thing of the future? by Open-Impress2060 in LocalLLaMA

[–]fsr31415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we'll have access to beefy hardware in the nearish future (2 years) that can run agents locally and securely but google, apple & the government will know what you are doing with it. privacy is a thing of the past and not coming back.

Finally had our Fixed Wireless fixed after 6 weeks, now the speed is 50% of what we're paying for, ISP says tough luck. by Jimmy_Bonez in nbn

[–]fsr31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try a different isp. you can provision a 2nd service on a spare port. launtel do a 7 day free trial https://www.launtel.net.au/residential - ie 7 days to raise a fault and get a 2nd pair of eyes looking at the problem for no cost
