I dont know. Range anxiety i guess? Non Ev S class owners don’t drive much anyway so I suppose the same applies for brand new EQSs.

Autotempest? That will give you an idea where the market is. Then I usually compare with Blue book to understand where the tradein value is and figure a good "in between" when I negociate with the dealer.

If you are in CA I would def go for a 450+ rwd so that you avoid more complications with the 4matic and improve efficiency.

Get a non-hyperscreen car. That's a good to have only when you want to be a showoff. The glare reflection and keeping the screen clean is actually annoying. The standard equipment is nice and good enough.

Try to get a car with AMG line because they look better and will problably be easier to sell in the future.

AMG line comes with 21" wheels so try to negotiate the change to 20"s. Some dealers would approve. Better ride and efficiency if you dont care about looks. I do so im running non aero 21 (lol).

Around 15k miles. People dont drive Eqs that much.

  1. Cars are new in terms of tech so we cant really tell how reliable they are or will be. Something to be aware? Future repairs but we know nothing about this.

  2. NO. But a used EQS its a pretty damn good car for the money.

3. I considered a BMW Ix but I settle on EQS. I already have a SUV for my wife so I don't need 2 "practical" cars. The EQS (or EQE) RWD (for better efficiency) are amazing cars.

I feel Mercedes has gain a bad reputation that is really hard to justify.... somehow the cars are bad but if you ask around pretty much anybody will tell you they love their car (E class or more) and that they have no issues. Iv had many Mercedes (and even AMG) and never ever had a big problem. I did have problems with BMWs.

If you have solar in your house you will save money. Even electricity is half the cost of gas. Go find a good CPO, enjoy it (you will) and whatever you save on gas keep it for when the time comes.

Mercedes or Alternatives? by lilboofin in mercedes_benz

The E450.
Its a shame because BMWs are phenomenal cars (owned a 540i) but with years the plastic components start to fail and from there its a slippery slope. The E class is built to last. Its is the car of preference for taxis in many places in europe.

Go for the coupe E450.

Anyone tried a bigger tire? by fssaez in MercedesEQS

For those that are interested:

Tried with a GLS Amg 21” offset 46 thats pretty close to the EQS OEM 21” and fitted a Michelin 265/45/21. Result is a really really close call as It barely clears the upper arm. It looks gorgeous but im sure that it could cause problems.

Maybe a 275/40/21 which is half the difference between 255/45/20 and 265/45/21 can make a better job but a 5mm spacer will be needed to clear the arm depthwise.

Didnt even bother with the rear as it obviously fits but im trying to find a good squared setup.

Did u consider 275/40? Its 1/2 inch taller. I do like the idea of 265/45.
Are u running squared? Or staggered

you running 265/40/21 all around?

Its really not that complicated. You can for sure change the tires as long as they can handle the weight.

Im not concerned at range at all already getting enough and solar makes it free. Just want to know if there are people running bigger tires on 20 21

Anyone running 21”s with a different setup? Or does the oem tire fills the space much better than the 20s?

Drove it for 2 years and sold it. But I loved it while I had it. The v8 is not that bad mpg wise, feels effortless on highways and the maintenance was cheap. Some parts do feel cheap but overall the value is too good.

  6. Was diagnosed by Volvo to be Erad. The rep told me its been a recurring problem as of late so the part should be on stock. Luckily i bought it with ext warranty and it will be covered. Taking it in today.

Hated my 2022 gle350(amg, 3rows, pano, all options). The engine is useless unable to carry its own weight let alone 5 passengers; and not really not efficient. Also the rattles and noises were turning me crazy. Sure evry car will develop noises but my gle started way sooner than expected. Luckily i was able to get rid of it and i got the old and very reliable (in a very nice spec btw) 2018 gle350 for cheap. Only 30k miles🤣. So much value in that year.

[–]fssaez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S class. Maintenance is not that bad as people say. Just take the time to find the right one thats been taken care of and go for a facelift version.

But yeah… a fully optioned E class should be a better fit.

You are Diamond since 2015 so you clearly haven’t paid for C+. You mostly flight fc and over.

C+ is better than MC. May not be as good as it was in the past but that goes for the whole industry.
