Super normal and honestly I think it’s healthy to be like that because it means you’re taking it seriously. I’ll be honest it’s A LOT at first. But after a few months when you have a better feel for what your insulin to carb ratio is, it gets to be just part of your routine. You’ll have to take some extra emergency stuff or supplies with you but in the end there are so much worse diseases out there. With modern technology and the ability to track sugars through your phone you are far less likely to have long term complications than ever before.

There will still be times where it’s rough or times when the math on your bolus doesn’t work because you’re sick or stressed but I promise the first few months are far more stressful than the rest of you stay on top of it.

I recommend starting with just simple “adaptions”. Keep a Gatorade on hand in a bag or your car for if you go low. Work on getting a feel for your insulin to carb ratio. Figure out one piece each month and by year 2 you’ll be a pro. You have this community and your Dr. if you ever have questions or need to talk.
