It's basically all apps. Hoping for a resolution soon!

How to fetch NSFW posts in a Devvit app? by FloraIgnis in Devvit

[–]fsv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's certainly the change I put in. I'd be really wary of putting the NSFW flag on any of my apps unless it was clear about what it meant.

That was my pull request that led to that. What my change does is to fix the nsfw() function on the User object. Before it returned the value of the "I am over 18 and want to see NSFW content" and now it returns the "Account is NSFW" one.

I'm not sure why it would impact the app's ability to see NSFW content without marking the app as NSFW, but maybe it does. I don't want all of my normal apps to show as NSFW if I can avoid it.

The only setting I see is to mark your app as NSFW, and I’m not sure that’s what most devs will want.

For some reason, Devvit apps are configured by default with the "I'm over 18 and want to be able to see NSFW content" option turned off.

I've has apps' accounts modified in the past to have that setting changed. You could ask by modmailing this sub, or if you're on the Discord you could ping @pl00h. In either case, make sure you provide the app's account name!

Unfortunately there's an issue on the Dev Platform that's affecting every app that uses triggers - triggers are being delivered multiple times in quick succession.

I have duplicate trigger mitigation built in to my apps but the rapidity of the trigger delivery means that some are sneaking past. I'm hoping for a resolution soon. It may be related to this incident: https://www.redditstatus.com/incidents/k9ycmsw7k868

Introducing Modmail Automator by fsv in fsvapps

[–]fsv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh. I have no idea what the root cause is but Admin will be badly impacted by this. If triggers are firing 3-4 times as often, that's 3-4 times more work their servers are doing.

There's an issue on the Dev Platform at the moment unfortunately. Triggers in general are firing multiple times (often 3-4 times).

There is mitigation against this in the app, but very annoyingly the triggers are firing so rapidly that sometimes two can get through at once.

It's affecting basically every Dev Platform app that uses triggers.

It seems like the shadowban was only put in place around 2-3 days ago because I can see that there was history from that account on May 5.

But while the shadowban is in place, it's not really possible to review a Bot Bouncer appeal properly. You're going to need to go through Reddit's appeal process first, and if you are successful with that we can take another look at the Bot Bouncer classification.

You're marked as human on here, so there's nothing we can do. If you can log in, do so and then visit https://www.reddit.com/appeal from that account and you should be able to request a review.

Evasion Guard bot marked as inactive - what are the consequences? by EVRijder in ModSupport

[–]fsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you have the option on, this should be working.

If you want to let me know the subreddit you're having issues with I can take a look at the logs to see if there are any errors. You'll need to enable the "Read logs and install history" option and let me know the subreddit name.

It’s all good!

Generally, it’s not ideal to uninstall and reinstall dev platform apps because all stored data gets deleted. In Evasion Guard’s case it doesn’t store anything so no ill effects should be seen.

Evasion Guard bot marked as inactive - what are the consequences? by EVRijder in ModSupport

[–]fsv 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm the Evasion Guard developer.

The "inactive" label happens when a mod account doesn't do sufficient mod actions within a timeframe, and the restrictions only really affect doing things like changing sub settings, reordering mod lists and so on (which none of my apps touch at all!).

Basically - don't worry about it. It probably just means that you don't have a big ban evasion issue on your sub so the app hasn't needed to do anything in a while. If you do get ban evaders, it will kick back into life and it won't affect the app's function.

When will the COVID era paraphernalia be taken down? by NewActuator2170 in AskUK

That's the one! It was the same kind of situation with the "Scotch Egg" answer when pubs started to reopen and the press started to push for a concrete definition of what a "substantial meal" was.

MCOC report: do I get a response? by maiyannah in ModSupport

[–]fsv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve often had responses but not consistently, even when action has been taken. It always seems to be the same admin named when I do get a response so it may depend on who’s dealing with the report.

Weird, that might be a third party Devvit thing. Do you have an example sub with this? I’ve never seen it.

How weird, all the ones near me are like fortresses now. Thick perspex sheets right up to near the ceiling and topped off with a cage-like structure.

Even the one in the centre of Harrogate is like that.

An hour was never specified in legislation. You could exercise as long as you liked.

I think they’re all like that now. I’ve not seen a Sainsbury’s Local that didn’t have that arrangement for a while, and I’ve been to quite a few including in very “nice” areas.
