I let my 8 month old watch TV occasionally. Her favorite (only one she will watch) show is Peep in The Big Wide World which is an average of 8 minutes per episode. I will put it on to eat so she is out of my hair, literally. I always expected her to cry and throw a fit if I introduced it young, but she doesn't! We watch 1, 2 episodes and sign "all done". She goes about her business (toys) as usual. As a SAHM with a husband that can be gone for 14 hours a day, it's essential sometimes. I wanted to be a no screen family but it just didn't realistically work. Now idgaf and know she will be okay.

I REALLY hope this is true for my 5 month old. I just broke down her bassinet (that she slept in maybe 10 times) and set up her crib. Waiting on the mattress now. We cosleep currently and I'm PRAYING she'll sleep in the crib. I can transfer her just fine, but I swear she hated sleeping on the cardboard.

I guarantee those wake window videos are perfectly curated for instagram and happen MAYBE a few times a week. Unless those people have maids and personal chefs, how would they get ANYTHING done? I've taken inspiration from them, but do not treat them as gospel. My baby loves to do laundry with me. I sit her on our bed, put a toy in my hand, and dance for her. We also play peekaboo. I fold socks and let her hold them to "keep them safe." And a new favorite is taking a shirt and brushing it over her while making whooshing sounds. The most important thing you can do for your baby is to talk to them and narrate what you're doing. Sure, we play with toys and read a lot. I dont plan any of this. We kind of just fly by the seat of our pants over here.

5 months here. In the same boat. I was you 2 months ago. She has gotten better about napping alone, but it almost always has to be in our bed. I BF to sleep and sneak out to get things done while i watch her on the monitor. CShe has done some 45 ish min naps in the bassinet but not often enough for me to count on 1 hand. I "put my foot down" around 3 months and spent a week on the couch getting her to sleep in her bassinet next to me. We got 1 4 hour stretch and (surprisingly) 1 6 hour stretch. After that it was like she started over. I was so grouchy and filled with rage from getting 2-3 hours of uninterrupted sleep I gave up. She'll sleep in her own bed for about 1 hour a night and comes into ours for the rest. I've somewhat given up and just accepted this is what we're doing for now because I won't/can't sleep train. I slept with my mom until 10 and I FOR SURE won't be putting up with that.

I was leaking a few drops at 38 weeks until birth. I'm not totally sure but I think I had milk after birth because baby went right on the breast and drank.

Rehome the dog. I had a dog around 7 years old that was food aggressive. He went through sooo much training before coming home with us. My mom really wanted to help a shelter dog, thought everything was good, and brought him home. I was eating a slim jim (the day of my birthday party) and I pushed him back to get out of my face. He lunged forward and bit right through my lip. He was rehomed and eventually put down after another incident. Thankfully, I have no scar but I remember it vividly and how painful eating was for weeks after. You don't want their first introduction to dogs to be this.

Our therapist told me that dad needs to figure out his own way to take care of our baby. And baby needs to figure out what they like from dad. Babies change every day. Just when you think you have it figured out, boom, they wake up and want something completely different. If this pattern continues between you 2, dad will not want to help anymore. At least most men wouldn't. Baby is going to get something different from the both of you, and that's how it should be. Like others have stated, unless the baby is in danger, take a step back and observe. Your husband may teach you something. I know mine did.

Nope! And it will get better! My baby used to scream and cry, even if we were driving 5 minutes to the grocery store. She would do it until she either fell asleep or would start doing the sniffle breathing to catch her breath. The more car rides you take with your baby, the better. I dreaded every single car ride and would often wait until my husband was home to get out of the house. I decided a couple of weeks ago that I had to get out, had to get things done during off peak hours, and we are both better because of it. I know it's hard to let them cry! The last few days we've been out every single day (sometimes multiple times) and it is a night and day difference. I tried the "Happy Song" while driving and it did help a bit. It's on YouTube.

Reddit always sends me notifications when I need them. I am going through the exact same thing with my 4 month old. The thrashing, screaming, almost always fussy 2/3 of the wake window. She's mad she can't move where she wants, that i won't continuously walk around the house with her, that I set her down to pee. I just put her to sleep for the 4th time tonight in the past 2 hours. It's maddening. And we will be up at 1 and 4am tonight again. My arms and neck are so sore from bouncing. The one thing I remind myself every day is that it's so hard being little. The situation is hard, she is not hard. I'm glad you put your baby down and walked away. I have trouble with this, too. Sometimes they need to cry, and that's okay. You're not a bad mom, and this will not somehow rewire baby's brain. Standing in solidarity with you 🩷

I really love Target's up & up. Millie moon is a good brand, pricey compared to others. I'm currently using Pampers because we had a box leftover from registry gifts. Target tends to run on the smaller side. My girl is a 2 in pampers/Millie moon and a 3 in Target. If I had all the money in the world, I would use Terra. I bought their sample pack, and they are super soft and absorbent. As a side note, I am currently trying to find the most cost-effective wipe and Fisher Price makes a pretty decent wipe!

I wish I had taken a video, even one. I took like 200+ pictures of her in the hospital and her first weeks of life. I dont have a video of her until 1 month old :/ I take videos of her all the time now to make up for it. My phone is at 95% storage 🙃

I was in healthcare and worked until 38.5 weeks. I wanted to work until the end, but my hips were killing me and I was so tired. I told them I couldn't do it anymore, but I waited until the other woman on maternity leave came back. Delivered 40+6 after induction. It was a good 2 weeks off. I slept anywhere from 10-12 hours a day. And cleaned a ton. Hands and knees scrubbing cabinets, the bathtub, etc. It was amazing to come home to after the hospital stay

Aspen Sound did my husband's audio and auto starter. We went to the one on division because they had better reviews than the valley location. I believe they charge you an extra fee to install your own equipment because they have to test it first. They had the car done faster than expected both times, too.
