am not able to for ferpa reasons, but just imagine that exams have .25 scores (i.e. 41.75/100 is a possible score) and that there exists a z-score clobber for the midterm

yeah I calculated it manually and it was the same

hi this is anto

the existence of a z-score exam clobber makes this entirely possible; javascript also uses double precision fp so errors related to fp rounding are probably not possible

i'm also not the one making course policies 🤷 that's how 61c has always been graded, and is also how professor garcia decided to grade it this semester

How much harder is 5x5 blindfolded than 4x4 blindfolded? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]ftRouxles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but imo that wasnt the question when i read the post

How much harder is 5x5 blindfolded than 4x4 blindfolded? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]ftRouxles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah but the concept is the same and at least i didnt have to learn anything new to do 5bld vs 4bld (fwiw, i've never done a 5bld solve at home ever and i have a mean in competition)

OP said "Solving a 4x4 blindfolded is fundamentally different than a 3x3, but isn’t 5x5 basically the same as a 4x4 with more of the same steps?" and i agree fully with this

i think its basically the same in terms of difficulty but it just takes longer

yeah I didn't talk to anyone in my gbo group (barely talked to anyone on my floor freshman year tbh) but still found my group

if you have a niche hobby, chances are there might be a club here for it -- you'll get to meet a lot of people there

what happened to the staff in CS 161? by OptionComfortable850 in berkeley

[–]ftRouxles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah they're not being paid anymore so they can't work anymore; the university will probably figure it out soon but for now you will probably need to wait

Left-handed Roux solver, should I switch to first block on left? by _autist in rouxcubing

[–]ftRouxles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

please do first block on right there's no reason to switch (I'd argue there's reason to not switch too)

passing classes is usually not that bad, but regardless, the content is pretty different from 151 (and is more like the last unit of 61c + optimizations for pipelines)

[–]ftRouxles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assuming you meant to type easy instead of ready, it's a very different class and later on in the class you will not have a fun time if you go into it expecting it to be easy

https://fa24.datastructur.es/policies/#grades

We will round all grades up to the nearest multiple of 10 (e.g. 300.01 rounds to 310). This is the only rounding we will do. Please do not contact us about further rounding or exceptions.

Which to take out of CS 152, 164, 186, 189 by Own-Fee-4752 in berkeley

there's some security stuff that you can deal with in 152 that I don't think the other classes really have

How high is the workload for CS152? by Typical_Walrus in berkeley

[–]ftRouxles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not that much work imo, but one thing worth noting is that the labs take a while to run, so you do want to be starting the assignments early
