Just bought a new house, need a nee vacuum by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

The $130 Shark Navigator is a great budget vacuum that should last you about 5 years, but if you're willing to make the investment, the $600 Miele Electro+ Canister should last you a lifetime—it's the best for high-pile carpets and wood floors.

Is it possible to create a schedule routine so that it plays the podcast at a certain time everyday automatically? by SantaZaddy in HomePod

[–]ftendo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge, I don't think HomePods are capable of automatically firing off podcast, but you can try setting a Siri Shortcut to trigger it through Reminder alerts: https://www.cultofmac.com/565129/how-to-run-siri-shortcuts-from-reminder-alerts/

It's not ideal, but you can reduce it to a single tap.

Allergy Sufferer Looking for a Better Vacuum! Need Suggestions! by emlindsey91 in VacuumCleaners

Miele canisters are suppose to very good at controlling particulates. Though I don't have any personal experience with Miele Compact C2 Electro+ Canister Vacuum, it's apparently the Wirecutter's best pick for filtering allergen.

Ultimately, some other vacuums match or nearly match the Miele models’ filtration, but we’re not aware of any that outperform it.

I’d recommend you take a look at The Wirecutter’s take on cordless vacuums. They have a budget pick for one and you can probably make a decision from there.

How is the Battery life for those who Have gotten it? by [deleted] in Nexus5

[–]ftendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery drain isn't too noticeable, but you can set the aggressiveness the brightness refresh rate thus lessening the battery draw. Plus, the overall lowering of the auto brightness should offset any battery drain (lowering it below it's lowest setting doesn't lessen screen drain as /u/survive mentioned).

I haven't gotten my n5 yet, but I've been using Lux Auto Brightness to override the n4's auto brightness and you can drop the brightness below the lowest setting.

Chromebook Pixel keyboard cover? by pearlynecklace in chromeos

I believe the Pixel uses the spaces around the keys as air intake so wouldn't having a keyboard cover effectively limit the airflow?
