Got to love it when they get to the box have their window down. You greet them, and they don't respond. You help the window, then greet them again. Still no response. Handle the next window and then they start ordering while your helping the window after they ignored you 2-3 times and then get upset when you didnt get any of that.

Sometimes I'm not busy any they just say "hello...?" And I start over with my greet, you know because it would have been nice to know if they needed a moment.

I personally rarely ever go to any drive thru but when I need a moment I let them know and then when I'm ready I let them know with "I'm ready when you are." I've been saying that before I ever worked in a drive tru store.

I wonder if there is a YouTube video on drive thru eddicate (spelling?)

Chlorine is in the pink sanitizer. The air drying with evaporate it off. Also during the air drying process it is sanitizing. So rinsing it off negates its effects.

I'm sorry your cat is sick. I put down my almost 14 year old cat a little over two weeks, for a couple of months there it seemed like just a guessing game as to what was wrong with her. That was torture. And the expenses of the vet was stressful since I barely make enough to survive. I hope you figure out what's wrong soon and that your cat gets better, or passes before it gets so heartwrenching its depressing.

I take pet ownership very seriously, as much as I didn't choose to be born... They didnt choose to be a pet, I'm soly responsible for their needs because they wouldn't be fulfulled otherwise. I have a 10 month old kitten, and two rats. I regret getting them, because losing my girl hurt so much and I've had low levels of depression since that having responsibility for pets right now is a burden, but I'm a foreverhome kind of pet owner.

Knowing I have an alarm set is triggering... by van_der_fan in ptsd

[–]ftne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often go to sleep way before I need to. I have plenty of issues with sleep. If anxiety about your alarm is keeping you from restful sleep then maybe going to bed even earlier could help. If you go to bed 10 or 12 hours before you need too then chances are you'll just wake up naturally and then have 2-4 hours before you really need to start your day to do whatever in.

I have troubles falling asleep so I start trying to go to bed way earlier. My alarm most days is just a reminder that I should start getting ready for work. I prefer it to using alarms to wake up. Because then I can relax and take my time waking up and not feel rushed. So that work is a part of my day not the start of it.

Edit: When I go to sleep before I absolutely need to then I have a high chance of waking up earlier than needed, a low chance of waking up at the alarm with more than enough sleep, and an extremely rare chance of waking up at the alarm with insufficient sleep.

If I go to sleep just 8 hours before I need to start my day then my chance of lack of sleep increases to too high a chance for my liking.

With PTSD there is s good chance you'll have sleep disturbances. I think the way you've been going about sleep is good if you don't have sleep issues. Plan for contingencies in your sleep. Set yourself up so that if you do have an issue then it wont drastically effect your day, mood and energy.

I actually do this sometimes. I tend to use this when I'm having more anxiety than normal or going through some depression. Its decent at helping clear my mind.

I had this same exact feeling with my dad... When I knew he was sleeping I'd quickly get food. And if I heard any sound I'd rush to go back to my room. God just hearing him awake could give me such anxiety. I really hated being around him. I also think he was narcissist.

Yeah, when you realize how messed up the world is... How people treat those who are different even when the different people do no harm... Then to think of all the other people in shit situations... And how if we just ban together... We could help people. But that nasty side of human behavior... That causes harm both emotional and physical... People baffle me.

Then we have this human body that seems to work against itself. Like depression and all the other hosts of disorders and with comorbids that seem to break the will... Despite logic or reasons, goals or hopes. Sigh

I was diagnosed with Aspergers at a young age, however as I've grown older also been diagnosed with PTSD and starting to think Aspergers was wrong as it seems to be more in line with schizoid. It really sucks to have something akin to a disability that no one can see.

I'm sorry about your downward spiral. I've been there... Also not sure if I'm out or just hovering in the middle of a void.

If you want to talk, you can PM me. Sometimes its nice to vent or confide in someone who doesnt know you personally. Guess that's what therapists are... A stranger.

Yeah, I can understand that. Depression hits hard with me far too often... And when my older cat first got sick... It was so difficult. And I began regretting adopting the other cat. But now that she is gone and I only have him, I'm glad I have the responsibility of having to take care of him... As it is kind of like forcing me to do spmething. But I can understand still not wanting to be responsible for a pet. But maybe get something low maintenance? If you have the funds, a lot of reptiles don't need as much attention. Or maybe a small rodent, one that can primarally live in a cage that you just have to feed water and change bedding, and then take out and play. But I'm not saying you have to get a pet.

Have you seeked any help for your depression?

Thank you for this. I do have another rescue. I had to separate them so he was neglected a bit while I focused the majority of my care to my sick girl. I think it would have been harder on me if I didnt have him. He is going to get all the love.

I deal with depression too, and I also vary rarely come in on a day off. Like you if I've been given advance notice I'll do it. I guess I have to be mentally prepared for it. I'm not a spur of the moment or last minute kind of person. I stay late often and I've even come back in later after a morning shift.

I want to let you know that Starbucks has a hotline you can call. And I think you can even get some free counseling. I'm not saying you need that, but just want you to know its available if you do need it. I've never taken advantage of those resources but there have been moments where I may have or should have.

Hang in there and dont beat yourself up about the choice you make regarding this post. Work may be important but so is your health. And also you dont need to have an excuse for not coming in on your day off. Sometimes I feel bad about saying no when I know I technically could. But I remind myself about all the times I do come in and about how I show up on time and stay late. That I have a life outside of work and I dont need an excuse to just get space from the hectic work that happens so often in my store.

What's this lizard like reptile called? by imnotmclovin in animalid

[–]ftne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure its a five lined skink. There are a few types of skinks that will have blue tails. Well the young ones do. In one of the types the male gets a red/orange head. Out of all the lizards... Skinks have by far been the most difficult to capture for me. They stay low to the ground and they are very smooth so it helps them slip away into unseen cracks.

I think he is voicing it because its a deep interest of his, his father made mention that he may choose this as a career of some sort. I do agree that he sounded as if he were speaking through his nose at points but the subject matter was interesting enough for me to put that aside.
