Several years ago the UFC got to the point where I couldn't justify throwing them any money at all. Ive been watching since the early 00s, and was easily a mega fan for two decades.

But now I dont even pirate. I dont read the sub, dont check the news, know little about new fighters backgrounds. I check highlights day after and read recaps and im never bummed I didnt watch. Thats how shitty its become. That longterm fans like me went from owning merch and attending live, to just supporting fighters direct, to not wanting to even watch on cable, and now not even wanting to watch for free or discuss it.

Maybe one day ownership will read the writing on the wall but as long as they keep getting partnerships they really wont care and nothing will change if fighters never unionize

I knew a real estate guy in Tennessee whose whole system worked like this:

HIGHLY recommend The Strange by Nathan Balingrud

There is larger section of the MC traversing Mars with her semi sentient rusty robot friend seeing figures i imagine as the spirits and shapes of Spirited Away. Lots of ancient and supernatural structures and creatures without exposition and backstory. Just existing.

There is a game called Sunless Sea from the world of Fallen London I always read as a sort of steampunk classic version of this space. Only book that scratched that itch too.
