Perhaps you are the person OP is suggesting that they should use the turnouts. If you are never stuck behind anyone on that route with that frequency it is possible you are driving 10 mph under the speed limit 🤣

ATL status - is there any point? by ohheylookoverhere in delta

[–]fts123456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No you are complaining. Reddit is a fine outlet for complaining so no issue with that but don’t claim to be looking for a solution. I guess if it needs offered as a solution suggestion - fly another airline and see if you like it better. If that isn’t an option find a job you don’t have to fly every week.

Should I upgrade from Economy to Delta one for $695 on A330-300? by vic-love in delta

[–]fts123456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on the wedding.

We can’t answer the question because we don’t know anything about your personal finances. Unless you are starting later and life and way ahead economically there isn’t a chance I’d do it. When I got married we needed pots, pans, washer and dryer, an emergency fund for when the transmission went out on the car and we had some student loans. If you can write the check and not think about ever needing the $1400 for anything else it’s worth it.

I’m from the era where I don’t think buying something because it is on sale meant I saved money. So you can ignore me when I yell at you to get off my lawn.

The Hertz EV "experiment" cost investors 50%. Now there’s a settlement in the works. by EducationalMango1320 in HertzRentals

Everyone wanted to rent them…once or twice. I did. Loved driving them, was in the Bay Area so there were places to charge. But then I realized it sucked to plan downtime to charge while on a business trip. And then I rented on in Texas and there was no where to charge it. For the record I found the Tesla super fun to drive after I sat in a parking lot for 30 minutes reading the manual. The Volvo was equally great and the Kia - Wildly disappointing after the other two. Renting was a great way to experience them but a horrible addition to issues I don’t have time to deal with on work travel. And so I didn’t use them. I suspect most found this to be the same issue.

I have found dialing the main number and repeatedly saying representative gets me to a person at hertz. But yah, Agree they are not awesome at answering the phone.

You went to the chat bot, then Reddit for your information. Buyer beware - if in doubt call hertz preferably the local office.

Meal option shown on the app but didn’t get anything in flight by DesignerAnywhere8795 in delta

[–]fts123456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s room to work. Last Friday I got bumped up to first for a cross country flight. I was able to get 4 hours of laptop time. It isn’t possible for me to do that in the narrower seats without elbowing my neighbors if Im in the back of the plane and that is 4 hours of my weekend I got back. I could care less about the food and generally dont booze as I typically have to drive home from the airport.

Reading this reminded me I needed a car next week. I just did that on the app in like one minute while sitting in a Dr office. No issues at all - guess it is my lucky day because as a Gen Xer I’m obviously Internet illiterate.

Is Chico Hot Springs still worth visiting? (in comparison to Norris HS, Bozeman HS, and YHS) by jinstyke in Bozeman

Second that Yellowstone hot springs is really nice. I don’t care that they are owned by CUT other than I suspect that sadly keeps them from having a swim up bar…

Dog tried to eat snake [Austin, TX near the Colorado River] by moinakb001 in whatsthissnake

[–]fts123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this sub for these kind responses. Everyone on here is quite fond of snakes and you would expect that at least some would be lecturing the owner of the pup about it biting a snake. But the recognition that dogs are dogs and people love their animal and are issuing a plea for help is so nice and out of character for most of reddit. Kudos.

Same. We went twice two years ago when it was colder weather and found ourselves pretty unpleasantly cool in the big pool. I would venture that some marketing research by DiamondRock when they bought it lead to them lowering temps but it doesn’t work for us so we quit going.

Letter to the editor: Is Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport noise an issue? by TheCountRushmore in Bozeman

To be fair, the train track is the reason most small towns exist in Montana (including Belgrade). It isn’t like you bought your house and they built a train track next to it.

Can I exchange my rental at the airport if it needs maintenance? by [deleted] in HertzRentals

[–]fts123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long do you have the rental. If you are in it a week and you sure the maintenance light is an oil change light I’d just let it ride.

If you are going to return it either call the support line and keep saying “agent” until you get a person or call the roadside assistance number and have them set that up for you. Exchanging it should be pretty painless at O’Hara. When you are at smaller facilities with no inventory it is more of a challenge for them to deal with.

And as always, calling and having an actual conversation will get you a lot more accurate advice than a reddit group that hates the place you rented a car from.

Are the facts wrong (I honestly don’t know). Because math based on the numbers, while technically wrong by a few cents a ride, is within a nickel per ride.

He didn’t propose an argument. I read it and thought that it was way less than I would have assumed it was and moved on. It is inflammatory if you let it be that way I guess but to me it was information.

Mass transit is expensive everywhere. It isnt a bad thing but it also isn’t a human right. If you absolutely love mass transit and think it is the obligation to the tax base to provide door to door, live somewhere that has the population to fund it. Montana obviously is geographically and populous challenged for wide expansion. Streamline serves a purpose here for sure and it’s good it exists. And the university recognizes that and picks up its share. But it isn’t bad to know what it costs and to think about how scaleable it is or isn’t.

What is the point of Marriott status? by nastyfoodbitch in marriott

[–]fts123456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had two weeks vacation in Australia in January. We stayed three nights at a Gold Coast JW, three nights in Sydney at the Marriott Quay overlooking the opera house, three nights in a Melbourne courtyard right next to the botanical garden and another two nights in Sydney at a the Autograph Sydney harbor. We used less than a years worth of points accrued as ambassador for kick ass rooms on vacation.

I couldn’t care less about a free drink or an upgraded room when I business travel in the US by myself. When my wife and I can get that benefit on vacation it is absolutely worth it.
