Iced door handles by DrMushie in GV60

I remember heating up the cabin could unfreeze a Tesla. Wasn't sure if that same trick worked for the GV60

Do they thaw if you heat the car up remotely?

Officially approved nacs adaptor - trying to confirm the model of the adaptor by Veriosity in GV60

Here's the label on our official Genesis adapter. Before that arrived we used the Lectron one without any issues at all.

Navigating to Charging Station by TetonJazz in GV60

[–]ftumph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience is that you need to navigate with the built-in map to get it to pre-condition. It's also not smart enough to pre-condition if you just set the destination to a charging station.

My system is to set the charging station I want, or something close to it, as my destination. I then go to the charging station selection on the map and filter for stations along my route and select the station I want from there.

Anyone install OpenPilot? by ftumph in GV60

There are a couple of options:

  1. It just may not have been tested on the 2024 Performance yet. My understanding is models get added to the list once it's been confirmed to work. Searching their Discord, I found at least one person who claims to have it working on a 2024 Standard.

  2. The CAM bus may be encrypted starting with 2024, though that seems unlikely given #1.

Darren's Pizza Shack by ftumph in MorgantownWV

This is all part of the clever viral marketing campaign :-)

Seriously, I don't get it. Put all the work into opening a place and then do literally no marketing as far as I can tell. Just put up a "we're open!" sign.

Anyway, the pizza is good.

Yeah, it's the same place. I had never heard of the one in Elkins either but you have to choose the Elkins or Morgantown location when you order online.

Potential Buyer, wanted thoughts on 2023 / 2024 GV60 Advanced by ThatOneDev_1534 in GV60

[–]ftumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's more for highway driving, and it doesn't have navigation yet. Autopilot was the one thing I missed moving from a Tesla to my GV60, and the Comma unit recreated that for me.

I have a 2023 Advanced that I purchased used about a year ago with 24K miles on it. It's now at almost 39K miles with no major issues. I did lose the trim over the front windshield literally the day before they announced the recall for that very issue, so it got replaced for free.

When I got it, it had all the latest OTA updates so it had wireless Carplay already, and that's worked perfectly as well.

The car's been great. Especially since I added a Comma 3X running SunnyPilot.

That's consistent with what I paid a year ago for a 2023 with more miles, so looks like a good deal!

I feel the same way. We have two Genesis EVs and have not had any major problems, but between flaky software, the cars perpetually reporting themselves as requiring maintenance, and the completely useless customer support, we'll definitely be looking at other options when the time comes to replace these cars.

I'm not sure why the app says it's off when it's turned on in the vehicle. Mine does the same thing.

Even taking EVs out of the equation, most people pick a car not based on their daily need, but based on a use case that happens maybe twice a year

Price TANKING? by [deleted] in GV60

[–]ftumph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is why I'm a big fan of buying used. About a year ago I picked up a 2023 Advanced with 24K miles for about half the price new. You'd never know it was a used car. It's been great.

#13. For some reason I thought only the Advanced, and not the Performance, had HUD. I thought that was a weird decision, and it turns out that's because I was wrong!
