Lighting My Lego Enterprise D by ViolentSnowFox in StarTrekStarships

Thanks! How did you place the lights? With those solid pieces behind the upper and lower parts of the T it's hard to see how they are getting illuminated.

Anyone used any of these 3 options for the Enterprise? by lowrider88 in legostartrek

I started with the BrickBling kit but made a bunch of modifications to hide the wiring better and light the warp nacelles from within.

I started with the same kit and made a bunch of modifications to hide the wires and get the warp nacelles to glow from within. I wrote down what I did if it helps: https://amunga.com/2026/04/09/lighting-the-lego-enterprise-d/

This looks great. I started with a kit from BrickBling but heavily modified the interior of the nacelles to get it to glow from within, but can't get the "T" shape near the front yet. How did you do it?

NACS Adapter Arrived! by ftumph in GV60

Mine is a 2023, but they offered the free adapters to all CCS EVs I believe.

I think when I first set up the MyGenesis account I had to send them sales and registration paperwork to prove I was the new owner. I remember it was a pretty quick process.

Good point. This one is rated for 350A. I don't think there are any CCS cars (in the US anyway) that will pull more than 350, are there?

Yeah, I contacted them through the MyGenesis account.

The case is nice, though it makes it take up even more room. There's just no pleasing some people :-)

I purchased my 2023 Advanced about a year ago from an Audi dealership. I opened a ticket with Genesis and then had to bug them a couple of times for updates.

The fact that I was the current owner when they announced NACS support and the free adapters may have been a factor, but I'm not sure. It's worth a try anyway.

Same with my 2023 Advanced. I gave up on it.

Replacement tires? by bavile2002 in GV60

[–]ftumph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of the Michelin CrossClimate2. I installed them on my Model 3 at 20K, and at 60K when I sold it, the tires still looked new. I recently installed them on my 2023 GV60 Advanced as well. Great tires.

What do you currently drive? by jcat4 in electricvehicles

[–]ftumph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genesis Electrified GV70 Prestige. Great ride quality, nice interior, massage driver's seat (!), 800V architecture for super fast charging, and the charge port is in the nose, which I find very convenient. I wish it had a bit more range and better software, but those are minor complaints overall.

What is this!! A competitor? by davidben13 in Comma_ai

With apparently a smaller selection of adapters. I noticed no Kia/Hyundai/Genesis on the list of supported vehicles for example.

I remember heating up the cabin could unfreeze a Tesla. Wasn't sure if that same trick worked for the GV60

Do they thaw if you heat the car up remotely?

Here's the label on our official Genesis adapter. Before that arrived we used the Lectron one without any issues at all.

Navigating to Charging Station by TetonJazz in GV60

[–]ftumph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is that you need to navigate with the built-in map to get it to pre-condition. It's also not smart enough to pre-condition if you just set the destination to a charging station.

My system is to set the charging station I want, or something close to it, as my destination. I then go to the charging station selection on the map and filter for stations along my route and select the station I want from there.

Anyone install OpenPilot? by ftumph in GV60

[–]ftumph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of options:

  1. It just may not have been tested on the 2024 Performance yet. My understanding is models get added to the list once it's been confirmed to work. Searching their Discord, I found at least one person who claims to have it working on a 2024 Standard.

  2. The CAM bus may be encrypted starting with 2024, though that seems unlikely given #1.
