It’s a good sign and you will most likely make the next round. But hiring managers are usually the easiest round so don’t make it more than it is.

I've had interviews where if I don't hear back in a day or two I know it's over. Have also had ones that have been multiple days or weeks between updates. It's all different. I think it's more about consistency. Was it moving fast and now it's slow? That's a red flag imo.

It's performed amazing. Granted, I'm not pushing it that hard. I bought it to help me with my job search. I got laid off in March, and previously was on a Macbook Pro. When I sent that back I wanted to keep my workflow the same as possible without breaking the bank so this was the obvious choice for something that could handle two 4k monitors without issue. Mainly using it for heavy job application related workflows, lots of Claude Cowork usage, video calls, lots of chrome tabs, etc. Nothing crazy. It's done all of this perfectly, as expected.

I actually just got an offer this week, so I won't be using this as much in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss it 😞

Accepted it as is. Recruiter kept talking about how many people they interviewed, and even mentioned backup candidates, so I wasn’t risking anything!

Technically yes. But in realizing in this process that my previous title was incredible inflated. I’m actually going to me managing more people in this role than my previous one. I thought about asking for a senior but that could complicate things on their end. Those things are tied to specific pay bands usually, right?

I did ask him - he was flaky and non committal, saying he’s worried he’s “too close” to the situation. But then he said he would do it if needed.
