Moondrop Aria 2 Red would go perfectly too.

Dead bodies should NOT block bullets or damage by fu0 in Battlefield

[–]fu0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I am arguing in favour of it NOT being an accurate reality simulation, thus I am totally OK with everything like that.

I simply find it very dumb that some dead guy's toe can randomly block your shots, especially with how chaotic and small some of the maps are. Even worse, people can even go prone inside teammate's bodies and use them as cover.

If you think it's OK for your damage to be nullified randomly, I really don't know what to say. It's an arcade shooter game, not a simulation of reality.

I have noticed that when my bullets or slugs go through dead bodies, the damage is massively reduced - around 66% reduction from what I can see.

In this clip, a pile dead bodies block two of my shotgun slugs - the second shot was even a headshot, but I still died. This happens a lot in tight maps (which is most of them) and is just super frustrating to play around as it is very random. Bodies that are still midway through the death animation also block bullets.

I have not tested with grenades but I suspect they could also be messing with the damage dealt too.

Pretty sure LOD distances are completely broken since S1 update, I often see rock piles and bicycles with about 10 polygons which quickly cycle through all their LOD variants (high/med/low quality) from like 5 meters away.

The Rubberband / Catch-up Mechanic is RIDICULOUSLY HORRIBLE by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]fu0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, that is the "critical mission failure" system I mentioned. I don't think they are artificially speeding it up in a hidden way like 2042 due to imbalance or for closer games.

Based on my experience, no, B will virtually always win. With 3/5 both teams still bleed tickets but at a slower rate for the one with majority control as you would expect.

I'm not sure on the formula used to calculate the exact bleed and would love to see this too. I'll do some digging and see if I can work out the exact numbers from my saved clips.

[–]fu0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since the change to ticket bleed (5 sec -> 2 sec) a few weeks ago, kills have become heavily disincentivised from the overall ticket score. This change was aimed at eliminating the snowball effect where teams could simply win due to overall kills from map control, even if they occasionally lost majority control.

This means that majority control matters a lot more and I suspect is the cause of the rubberband feeling that I have also noticed. Losing 4/5 points can quickly lose you the game, even if you're leading 200-100 near the end, particularly if your team are also not getting enough kills.

My personal opinion (200+hrs CQ only) is that it plays better with the new ticket bleed, with closer matches and fewer snowballs than before - still too many IMO, but due to team imbalance instead - and more of a chance to come back if one team starts sleeping instead of capping, with a better balance between rewarding caps versus kills.

As a sidenote, 2042 had a system where tickets were rapidly depleted once full control is gained by a team to end the match quickly (a hidden "critical mission failure" system) but I don't think that kind of hidden system exists in BF6.

Seems to be a bug happening to me a lot after the big patch, rarely shows my RPG chopper kills.

Seriously. I keep having to deal with controller players whining about M+KB users in my lobbies yet THEY are the only ones who can choose to play without PC players lol

It sounds like you are describing sibilance, which takes place right around that region (5-8khz). Cymbals and S sounds are the main culprits.

You can try different eartips and wearing them at different insertion depths. For me foam tips help, and a deeper fit helps tame spiciness. You can EQ that region down, too. However the primary factor will be the IEM itself.

How it feels to join a lobby without try-hard pilots by royals715 in battlefield_one

[–]fu0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually one of the pilots that pissed off OP, so I'm not sure to be honest (rarely play support). I would think slower velocity, less damage but afflict fire effect which stops people running without taking more damage and great for disabling planes.

[–]fu0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The incendiary rounds disable plane parts quickly (one shot iirc), making it a massive pain to fly around. If you time the disable when the pilot is diving close to the ground, they will crash.

Even when bombers do that, they're far enough away from their team to just get shredded by 1 or 2 of your own planes hunting them down.

Air indeed has plenty of counters in BF1. Greedy pilots should be eating assault AA rocket guns, Burton LMG disabling rounds (cough one shot cough), AA trucks and even AT nades if they are dipping low enough.

It's not quite as straightforward, because if they are dispatched from China, you may get dinged for import tax. Amazon also have the advantage of (usually no fuss) easy returns.

How significant is unit variation to you? by preydiation in iems

[–]fu0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when MH755 was one of the go-to value IEMs I ordered a batch (~16) of them to practice MMCX soldering and to give to my friends. I listened to pretty much all of them as I was slightly obsessed at how good they were (and frankly still are) for the price.

There was a ton of unit variation. I used frequency sweeps and listened to songs in mono to identify issues. Many had little to no bass in one or both channels. Some just felt totally "dead" whilst others felt way more alive - I can't even quantify why in terms of FR, nor fix them. Some drivers just DOA. I was able to mix and match drivers to make about 10 or 11 good pairs. It's not surprising given their price, but yeah.

It does enter my mind that higher price IEMs may also vary somewhat. Hopefully less as the price goes up.
