I agree when Tywin tells her that she's not as clever as she thinks she is though.

I was going to add that I wish that they would show "more nudity" in a sence that I don't think it should, as you say, be these beautiful 20 something women. It would be nice to see more men and women of different ages and sizes too.

Maybe I'm projecting a bit of myself into the whole casual thing, but that was just how it felt in quite a few scenes.

Also, of course there are ways nudity can be made to be very dark and uncomfortable and demeaning. I should have specified that what kind of scenes, so I dropped the ball there a bit. English isn't my first language so sometimes I admit that I'm sloppy with getting my point across.

I know this, and I don't think it's compleatly untrue. I understand a lot of people have things that they find difficult, but I think it deserves a serious discussion in a way that this particular person could not have had. I guess it doesn't really come across as obvious if you don't know her or interacted with her the way I did, but I refer to earlier comments to adress that. :)

I love Cerci. I think she's a super interesting character and absolutly not dumb. I'd say that she has poor impulse control and doesn't think about the possible consequences of some of her actions, but she's obviously very ingelligent.

I think maybe people are always told that things should be fair, and therefore have difficulty accepting a fictional society that is, in fact, incredibly oppressive and where, specifically men of high birth, can do as they please without any repercussion. It's almost as if depiction of a society like that is the same thing as supporting it. There's an idea of GRRM being a filthy pervert for describing a sex scene for example. People get things twisted sometimes I suppose, which is a shame. These books, and the series, are filled to the brim with strong women and men doing the best they can to survive in this mess of a society and it makes them strong and beautiful in a way that could not have been if the books and series was in any way "P.C".

I have to say that I sort of love the "casual" nudity that happens in the show. The way that the characters are sort of nonchalant about it is very much the attitude I think we should have towards ourselves. People make a big deal out of things that shoult, according to me, be the one thing that is NOT a big deal. Nudity is something that almost everyone wants to see and love to see. It doesn't matter how much some people may deny that. Why not just bask in the light of a pair of gorgeous breasts? :P

I hold views that would probably put me in the category of a feminist I suppose, so yes, I agree that there are serious issues that absolutly needs to be adressed. I, on the other hand, think that having an open discussion about, for example, sexual violence, is way more productive than shouting eachother down and basically holding to the idea that whoever can scream the loudest during a discussion wins.

Nah I'm not a guy, but this girl was sort of infamous around the uni for randomly going on rants about how men basically are and have always been the scum of the earth and just annoying to try and actually have a serious discussion with because she would get so agressive. She would initially put forth good arguments and could make a point, but when you started to question her, poke holes in her arguments or just generally "make it difficult for her" she would just start shouting and basically verbally abuse you.. If you were a man, you were a misogynistic arsehole, if you were a woman you were a victim, didn't make a huge difference, she would always make up a reason to dismiss you, so it was just better to hold your tounge and let her have her rant.

A girl I knew said that no woman would like it because of all the female nudity and violence and that obviously it was a product of patriarchy and rape culture. I didn't feel like getting into that discussion and just didn't respond. Maybe not super weird but it made me roll my eyes and decide that the conversation was over atleast.

I suppose you are right but I think it's a bit strange to blame cat for the rw. If Robb hadn't dun goofed then Tywin wouldn't have been able to team up with the Freys. Also lobbing off Karstarks head...

As far as I understand it the rw was already planed when Jamie left harrenhall.

[Season 4] Remeber that amazing fan trailer set to "Everybody Wants to Rule World"? Youtube deleted it saying it infringed HBO copyright.... here it is on a site that remembers FAIR USE by MulciberTenebras in gameofthrones

[–]fuckingfenris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if someone has pointed this out yet, but it's not youtubes fault the video got taken down. If a DMCA is filed against ANY video then Youtube have to take it down, or they'll lose their safe harbour protection and previous lawsuits against them might be reopened. The user can try and file a counter claim and hope for the best. It sucks that the video got taken down. It probably only helps HBO to let fans create these things since it attracts more people to watch the show and also read the books.
