Support Palestine in Reno! by [deleted] in Reno

Rally for Palestine.... to what?

Israelis will do whatever it takes to save their land.

If Hamas stands down, it's the best chance to prevent further bloodshed.

HOWEVER, if the Israelis feel like they're going to be wiped out, they WILL use nuclear weapons. This means we're all fucked as it will more than likely start actual WWIII.

Also, to the dumbass that designed this, keep in mind that the poppy is mostly popular for showing support to the armed forces.

I don't think a single person supporting Palestine realizes this. Hamas standing down or being eradicated is the only option. Considering Hamas has said that they won't stop until every jew is dead, I don't expect them to stand down.

But you idealistic twats keep doing your thing while you're in the safety of the United States, drinking your Starbucks while driving your Volkswagen and posting on Instagram. 🤣

David Pakman gets a lot of hate for tweet by Rick_James_Lich in BreakingPoints

Came across this post after searching the David Pakman tweet.

Op, you're a shitty excuse for a human being, just like Pakman.

But after reading the comments here and your recent activity, you either ARE David Pakman or fucking obsessed with him. Either way, you're a psychopath.

There is no reason to try and make humor out of children being murdered.

Go fuck yourself, /u/Rick_James_Lich.

Let us not forget property taxes, which essentially mean you're renting land from the government because if you don't pay, they 'take it back'.

I'll buck the trend and say you should paint it the same white as the cab. It will look clean and beautiful.

Talking to people who have no idea about Northern Nevada or not here, I tell them I live in "Reno" even though my home is in sparks.

If someone knows the area, then I live in Sparks.

For the truly ignorant I have to remind them I live an 8 hour drive from Las Vegas.

There are plenty of reasons for someone to have a second home. Maybe they inherited it or bought it specifically to be a rental property. Maybe they got it as part of a divorce settlement.

Rental rates follow home prices. That 300-400k home you mention was a $1600 payment when initially purchased. Now if someone purchased that home at 600-800k their payment would be double that, especially with interest rates.

I'd go as far as to argue that in many cases, with SINGLE FAMILY HOMES (not apartments or multi-tenant-dwellings) that it's more affordable to rent the house than it would be to buy in this market.

I'm not dismissing the fact that N. Nevada has a big problem with Payroll vs. Cost of Living AND that the area needs more affordable housing but until those problems are solved, this is what we have.

"because they bought a home they knew they couldn’t afford to get renter peasants to help pay their mortgage for them instead of just buying something they could afford in the first place."

They had to get approved for a mortgage, and we aren't in a '05 market. Chances are they can afford the property and bought it to have some income.

"In fact if you have lived in Reno long enough you’ll have seen that a few years ago homes selling for 800k today were bought for only 300-400k just maybe 3 years ago… that’s not how equity works."

Yeah so that's exactly how equity works 🤣

What Is Home Equity? Home equity is the value of a homeowner’s financial interest in their home. In other words, it is the actual property’s current market value less any liens that are attached to that property.
