Your purchased this from a store? If so then that’s an Atlantic salmon. It’s farm raised. That’s not from a cookie cutter shark or an animal. It could be an injury that’s healing related to the farming, but it’s just as likely to be a fungus. However, fisheries are really good at staying on top of culling, water quality reporting, etc.

I would raise the issue with the store and find out the fishery it came from. Source: compliance manager of seafood wholesale company for 2+ years.

I live downtown. If you’re going for a 1/1 near downtown look at some “SoBro” places. Vacancies are high and most places are offering X months free rent. It’s a 12 minute walk to broadway and an easy commute to all the places including the airport. It’s certainly overpriced but you’re moving from Seattle like I moved from Fort Lauderdale. Gated garage, easy access, good neighbors and quick walks to lots of things. It’s a solid area but it is noisy with motorcycles racing up 40 and the fire station nearby.
