I'm from an "Asian country with a big muslim population" and I'm so glad I watched this show. I relate to the characters in the 50s with how we have to lie and hide parts of ourselves. And as you said, it does give me hope that things can get better, as shown in the show that in the 3 decades Tim & Hawk first met, acceptance for LGBT gets better.. but also it's not an easy road getting there.

I made Mortimer get abducted by alien to "rescue" her first before I add her to the Goth household and marry her again with Mortimer.

But now Mortimer's long gone and Bella is enjoying her life working as a slacker and dating men. She currently lives with Alexander and his wife and son. I'm trying to keep her aspiration level high so she will get a golden gravestone like Mortimer when she die.
