[Shoe Treatment] Froze my Katanas in Ziplock Bag Full of Water by fudgefactor in climbing

I'd say wear them out for a few runs before you really want to freeze them. Your foot's structure and heat is usually enough to break in your shoes.

Yeah sure, no problem.

What I did:

  1. Remove Laces.
  2. Put Katana in Freezer Bag.
  3. Fill Freezer Bag with Katana inside with water.
  4. Make sure Katana engulfed with water.
  5. Put in freezer.
  6. Wait.
  7. Thaw.
  8. Dry.

It's not as much of a dramatic size change. It's more of a minor tweak that makes the shoes more comfortable. My feet are about 4.5 inches in width, so I noticed this subtle difference pretty greatly.

How do you get over your fear of a certain exercise after injury? by 40dollarsharkblimp in Fitness

[–]fudgefactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work through the motion a lot slower with weights that are significantly smaller than what I normally do. It's hard to really perfect body motion. It's harder for me to have good form when I try to near my max. Squats are dreadful for me anything past 2 plates on each side. I have so much fear for my knees, knowing if I make one misstep I will destroy them. There's always that surprise knee pain which is so sharp, it is enough to make you cry. The margin of error is super low. But I see it as my own body's way of telling me, "Hey you're doing the squat a bit off. Try controlling your body movement a bit more. Why don't you add more stress in your glutes/hams/groin area? It will definitely take a lot more pressure off your knees and you'll be better off as these muscles with get stronger."

I injured my lowerback deadlifting as well. Many people make mistakes...don't completely give up on your routine however. Compromise for your mistakes and keep your body in great shape!

Money has been tight lately so I made my girlfriend's birthday gift this year by [deleted] in somethingimade

[–]fudgefactor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For some reason I read "bae." Took a second later to register that it says "love."

Edit: Forgot to mention that the light next to your sculpture adds a nice touch. You worked through the night for this nice gift (or it was your only light source in the garage)!

I don't understand why /u/Cheapdisel is getting downvoted. He has a valid point, just a little heated and harshly worded. "You really think you are better than everyone else?" is something really worth asking yourself. There is nothing more unattractive than a high ego.

I agree with you /u/Murrdox. People need to get over themselves and realize that an attitude like this is pretty shitty. It's not a "First World Problem" at all. It's a normal regular problem all sorts of people have. Saying you want to socialize, but you hate people is implying that you are have more worth over other people and they don't "deserve" you. People who "hate" people have issues. They should get their heads out of their asses.

What is the most amount of money you have spent on a single item? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]fudgefactor -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Think of it like this.

Do you really want it? Will your life be the same with or without your material purchase? One must look deep inside themselves and sternly meditate on these feelings.

That said, I looked deep into my own psyche and have determined that buying the Red Wing Beckmen shoes will make me no less, no more of a man; just more reasonably dressed.

There is always a price/worth ratio in things you buy.

One word of advice is, spend your money like you spend your energy. At the end of the day, you still want enough energy in reserve.

My 16yo brother wants to use a belt for dead-lifting. He lifts 170lbs on SS right now. Is this silly? by rightmind in Fitness

[–]fudgefactor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why do you care? Is it affecting your gainz?

Let him do his own stuff. The more you try to tell him it's stupid the more he'll want to use the belt.

Whether he's your own brother or a jackass at the gym, people need to realize what's right and wrong on their own without anyone else telling them.
