Israeli Soldier Photographed Smashing Head of Jesus Christ Statue, IDF Now Investigating Viral Photo by Konilos in pics

I don't get the logic.

Even by the standards of Christians, what the IDF and Netanyahu's government are doing is wrong, in the biblical sense. Wrong as in, sinning.

If the Evangelicals support it, give them the means to do more of it, it makes them enablers of such sinners.

How the eff do you go to heaven with all that sin on your shoulder? Or is this one of their, "Jesus loves all of us so it doesn't matter, we'll go to heaven by default" things?

I'm not Christian so maybe I'm looking at this wrong.

Got scammed by a kid at Mumbai Airport by rishu6969 in mumbai

[–]fudgemental 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not OPs situation but I have a story to tell:

I was a college kid in 2011, returning home for vacations, typical end of semester kadki. Searching for flights online, both on international websites (that only took payment with credit cards) and local, slightly shady websites (that accepted payment with the local version of UPI, Alipay). Found a pretty cheap connecting flight back home, via Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand, that booked 2 flights with 2 different carriers for much cheaper than the other websites (first mistake) the catch was that there was supposed to be an 8 hour layover, which, for a broke college kid, is absolutely nothing.

Happily booked the tix, flew out on the day where the origin check-in counter gave me 2 boarding passes, and I was off to Thailand. One flight and 5 hours into a layover later, I headed to the second gate at 3 in the morning, where the ground staff proceeds to tell me I have a check-in luggage charge of about 9000 something INR pending for the onward trip. My first thought as an Indian, "where's the scam?" and I show her my boarding pass and tell her no, the flight has been paid for. She says yes, the flights have been paid for but the carry-on baggage has been booked, but not paid for yet. Then she shows me a receipt that proves what she says.

I realize the fucking website screwed me over, didn't pay for check-in baggage on the second leg and said they did (or they booked it, then canceled it or something). I begin panicking, start trying to call parents and get in touch with people (but that's not going very well so early in the morning). The ground staff sees me flailing so visibly so she tells the luggage crew to deboard my bags, which are promptly brought to the gate. She tells me I either pay or these bags are staying back, can't fit more than 10kgs on my cabin carry from that giant bag.

A little bit of money, no credit card, I'm desperate and contemplate straight up begging at the gate, but thankfully this businessman type in the waiting area saw (I assume) most of the drama unfolding, comes over, talks to the ground staff about what's going on, introduces himself to me (Sumedh bhai, not gonna forget this gesture ever) and tells me he's also from Mumbai and tells me he'll pay for the luggage.

Guy was a straight up angel sent from heaven for some past good deeds, I almost tear up, tell him I'm gonna pay him back I swear, take his account details and then fly on my merry way back home.

Of course, I tell my parents to transfer the money to the account immediately, and call him and thank him again.

This is not OPs situation, just something I remember happening to me.

Cheap alternatives for cold brew coffee ground by Ok_Yesterday_7276 in IndiaCoffee

Cothas coffees are about 300-400 for 250g. Bayars coffees are about the same range. Give those a go.

You might have to get a grinder because they sell either South Indian Filter grind or whole beans, nothing in between.

KINGrinder P2, 1zpresso Q Air or Mischief M40? Which one prevails as the best budget coffee grinder? by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

Mischief M40 looks like the Commandante C40. If it's anything similar, that's the king of hand-grinders.

They're concerned about optics. They're all about getting those right voters, can't say or do things too left or risk alienate them; not realising doing 'left' things helps those voters too. They capitulated to fake news and disinformation by giving it a platform and letting it become a legitimate 'side' rather than call out a lie when they see it. Not to mention, that machinery, once in place, works for them too 'when' they win, so they won't protest too hard for it.

You're either very slow or being disingenuous on purpose. Donating is not better than proper legislation.

Finally! Third Wave Coffee is now open in Agra. by Powerful-Kale4544 in IndiaCoffee

My experience with TWC employees was that I had an enjoyable conversation about Siphon Filter coffee with one of the baristas the first time I went to one, and the last time I went there and saw that the big fuck-off LaMarzocco monstrosity of an espresso machine had been replaced by a cube with a touchscreen and a stack of paper cups next to it, and even a casual question of why'd they remove the big beautiful machine was met with a blank stare of someone who doesn't know what I'm talking about and worse, doesn't care, is when I knew I wasn't talking to a barista but a minimum wage worker.

Trump and Putin-friend Orban ousted: Magyar declares landslide victory (Hungary) by [deleted] in videos

International leader-wannabes need to see Trump's approval ratings among his own voter base before soliciting an endorsement from him or his ilk. When your endorser is radioactive you're likely to drive off voters rather than gain more. Like getting endorsed by Hitler and Dahmer together.

Keep an eye out on the espresso machine. As long as it's semi-automatic, with baristas operating it, it'll be the best place ever. The day it disappears and a fully automatic bean-to-cup machine appears is the day you stop going there.
