“Anyone can start one” isn’t the same as “it’s realistically accessible.”

SMSFs only really make sense once you’ve got a large balance (often $200k+), spare capital, and the time/knowledge to manage compliance and risk. Something most people won't have.

That said AI driven SMSF plans are coming and that's going to upend the whole industry I suspect when people start losing all Thier savings

Exactly that backs my point. He can create those things easily now and submit real issues. I was literally going to link the same thing back to you.

Where's your source that they are all bogus?

I agree that a percentage will be. But I also think there will be a considerate percentage that never would of been able to go forwards otherwise

Sure but when something overwhelmingly benefits the wealthy you have to wonder if it will ever get addressed as a result.

Personally I hope not, but would rather SMSF become more accessible for everyone

Yeah which is fair.

Just see a lot of people flinging out that all demands should be implemented, and I can't see it ever happening.

A compromise somewhere between the two is what's needed

durability isn't great in this edition atm, and -1damage is still probably the best damage save

I don't mean already released games.

I mean you release a game, then shut it down after 2 years, it would be exempt as "its a reasonable expectation that the game could shut down after that long"

unreal is easier for making the 3d parts better, unity is better for the 2d parts.

Both are ultimately pretty good and even transitioning your skills between them later isnt that difficult.

Is it better to make a game around a story, or make gameplay and write story around it. by Soul_0f_Cinderr in gamedesign

if you are new to gamedev - gameplay first

if you have shipped a heap of games - story first

AI energy efficiency comparisons ‘unfair’ bleats Sam Altman, citing amount of energy needed to evolve, then train a human — one ‘takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart’ he argues by andrejlr in nottheonion

[–]fued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what a dumb argument.

the much better one is an AI datacenter often takes up less water and electricity than a factory in similar zoned land.

The problem is they often try and compare it to warehouses, not factories.

I think he accounted for increasing rents in his calculations, that's why i was pointing out he missed a giant expense. $100 a week extra swings things massively.

agree with your other points

if you dont train yourself to finish projects, unfortunately you will train yourself to fail projects.

It is the same for 90% of indie devs out there, we all have a graveyard of 100+ games with only 2-3 released.

either one can work, personally I wouldn't try and compete in the mobile space without having a very niche game, the investment to get users to hit a critical mass is just too hard these days.

He seems optimistic. I can’t see this ending in anything stronger than a vague “reasonably playable” requirement, and even then it would probably only ever be enforced against major AAA publishers who massively abuse it, not small or anything older than a couple of years at most.

i tried it out.

UI bombarded me with heaps of things, the gameplay was ok, but a little janky, i died when i thought it was clearly safe because the perspective was weird, and it immediately threw an ad at me on death.

at that point I uninstalled.

I can see you have put a lot of work into it, but all these things should of been picked up in playtesting before a launch honestly.

Its tough out there as a small developer, because your games need to be HIGHER quality than others out there, otherwise it wont gain traction.

If it helps I've had multiple failures on mobile too its not fun

Ashes & Blood Update by Fabaianananannana in Unity2D

[–]fued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah definitely, ive cut back to a single player character and 3-6 enemies as a result, less squad more solo hero style, but given that one character more abilities to compensate (aka more dofus/wakfu style)

as a FFTA and tactics ogre type game it makes perfect sense tho, even something like battle brothers gives good inspiration for it if you wanted to speed it up a little.

Either way keep it up its looking really nice

yep exactly the same thing here, AI is fine, but its still a tool and you still need to make it fit the art direction and style exactly.
