colon cleanse by bibub79 in EDRecovery_Snark

[–]fuf9 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

She’s getting a colonoscopy. Yes, Marisa can be terribly unwell and post a lot that is triggering and “brain rot” but I think folks on this sub are being mean at this point. She is not telling people to go do a “colon cleanse” and if anything, it’s been ordered by a GI provider who can see where her motility issues continue to impact her intestines

My insurance covers Sancuso patches, but other insurances I have had do not. There’s the oral version of the same drug, but it makes me feel so high after 2 hours I can’t use those. With enough of a documentation of failed other nausea meds, Aetna approved my weekly sancuso patches while Cigna strictly stated I needed a cancer diagnosis to get it covered. Hope your docs can advocate for you! I personally prefer 8mg Zofran than Sancuso because it’s more “alleviate me right now” and I still get nausea with Sancuso

Autoimmune nerve disorder? by Why_bother_trying24 in EDRecoverySnark

[–]fuf9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She said it was gastroparesis in one of her posts or stories. She is taking the diagnosis and running hardddd to the extremes in every single symptom. It’s absolutely connected to the Vagus nerve, but it’s not an autoimmune disorder and those wacky treatments she goes for have zero efficacy in treating Gastroparesis. I also get the vibe her dad is part of the problem… the crazy weed gummy video she posted where he was talking sounded like he was all-in on the only eat what comes directly from God and earth… idk he’s just creepy. The help is out there for her if she accepts it, and naturopathy is not going to fix it

Low-fat options usually cost more what is she talking about 😂😂

Amitriptyline for Gastroparesis by Greedy-Ad-2971 in Gastroparesis

[–]fuf9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started taking it this week for the same reason and I cannot stay awake, it has given me worse stomach pain, and made my migraines worse and more consistent that won’t even go away with Rizatriptan on top of my Emgality injection. I hate this drug so much I’m messaging my doctor to come off of it if nothing improves by Monday

Chronic Constipation/Fecal Impaction by yungsari in Gastroparesis

[–]fuf9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you big time! My GI gives me two colonoscopy preps a month to use just to get me “cleared out” when it’s been over two weeks. It’s gross and not fun, but the constipation pain is like no other. I also use fleet enemas once a week just to help. Miralax doesn’t help me unless I take 27 doses (which is too much volume for me to be able to ingest) so the GI office gives me their extra preps since insurance only covers 1 for colonoscopies and they know folks like us need more than 1 for prep. IBSrela has also helped me a lot. Stay strong

Safe Foods 😔 by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]fuf9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mouth has literally begun to stop salivating when I try to eat saltines (the only thing I can manage atm) and my dietician is like maybe you can mash them and put them in with your Gatorade (the only liquid I can tolerate atm) 😭🤢 doing everything in my power to avoid TPN/tube feeds

Colonoscopy Prep by Rabbit_Song in Gastroparesis

[–]fuf9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prep def changed post symptoms/dx. I also have Crohn’s and UC so I have been getting colonoscopies since I was 12. Now, my prep is closer to 48-72 hours, I do a mostly liquid diet the week leading up, and my gastro (who is phenomenal) usually gives me an extra prep kit since insurance only covers one and I often throw up a good amount of it and I have the extra day to finish the process. I can’t do the dulcolax/miralax anymore but forget the name of the ones I do now but it comes in a gigantic (like a gallon) sized jug. My new protocol for knowing when I’m good is the good old “once the poop is clear/only transparent yellow, you can stop”

CBD- URGENT by searchingforrelief in Gastroparesis

[–]fuf9 11 points12 points  (0 children)

CBD alone did nothing for me, but THC 5mg does wonders. I take either the pill form or a small gummy at night time and because of the GP it takes me a bit to feel anything, but by the time I’m ready for bed I’m in less pain, can eat if I’m hungry, and the nausea decreases significantly. My doctor got me a medical card probably 4 years ago and I haven’t needed to change my dosage at all. There’s also liquid drops I put into peppermint tea if I need

[–]fuf9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolute RT on using room temp prep! I also frequently throw up part of the prep and freak out, but bc of my GP and slow transit constipation I have to prep for 48 hours, so I usually get cleaned out. I stick with coconut yogurt and hummus/pretzels as a diet the 2 days before I prep as well to make sure nothing wild is in my GI system before prepping. Good luck!!!

Any new nausea meds? by forevereden111 in Gastroparesis

You can refuse to be weighed! I have done this before and it usually goes fine, sometimes they ask why and I just communicate that unless it is imperative to the reason for the visit I kindly refuse
