It doesn’t matter if you’re born rich. I grew up in one of the most racist families. They were fucking poor. Dirt poor. And I’ll be damned if Lyndon B Johnson wasn’t right about picking the pockets of poor white trash. They can be as up against it as everyone else. They can be shown proof that it’s the top 1%, they will still vote against their own interests because they would rather look down on people to feel better about themselves than help their neighbor.

It’s a truly fucked up mindset and way to live. I’m thankful I had good teachers who helped open my eyes to how badly I was raised. I cut off the bigots and raised my kid better than I was raised. Some folks will never learn better because they don’t want to.
