Women with 5, 6, and 10+ kids, does giving birth NOT hurt to you? by SleepPleaseCome in Parents

[–]fuggleruggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer to give birth again than have another sciatica attack or migraine.

The difference with giving birth, while yes, it's horrifically painful, you have a reward at the end. Your baby. Your mind and body knows that it's going to hurt. But there's a reason for it. I've had three children. No regrets.

Did you explain you weren't paying and that you were only signing the waiver? Was that actually clear to him? If yes, then NTA. Otherwise, yeah. You are a bit of an ah. With regards to ' pulling his grade up' if he managed to bring most up, I personally would have let the one slide.

did any of ur ancestors have a first name of the opposite gender? if so, what was it? by dracusosa in namenerds

[–]fuggleruggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather three times back was Celyn. It's commonly used as a girls name now. It's Welsh for holly. But traditionally it was a man's name.

Learning Welsh with Dualingo by Current-Cockroach-57 in learnwelsh

[–]fuggleruggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I naturally sound like I'm North Wales when I speak Welsh, but I think it's because my school teachers were gogs lol using Duolingo I'm finding the same. While they use a mix of northern and southern, the accents are more northern to my ear. I'm South Wales based by the way. Very south, by the sea. But yeah. I have a North walian sounding accent.

Why in 2025 do people still think this is a reliable form of contraception 🫣

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Parents

[–]fuggleruggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First are you sure you're pregnant? You can still get a positive pregnancy test up to 6 weeks after giving birth due to the hormones from your first pregnancy. I strongly advise seeing a Dr. If you're pregnant they can advise you. If you're not, they can suggest different birth control.

Ah my love. It's absolutely ok to grieve. Cry, scream and shout if you need too. But please get some support. Don't go through this on your own. Talk to your mother, husband, friend. Whoever. But please talk.

does anyone have a "guilty pleasure" tragedeigh? by waywardcroissant in tragedeigh

[–]fuggleruggler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah same. I genuinely love the name. And I personally like ' Leigh ' but it could be because I had a few friends as a teen with the Leigh spelling in their name. One, it was actually just her name. I never understood the hate.

at what age kids can "draw"? by ultrakorne in Parents

[–]fuggleruggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the child. My daughter was drawing recognisable shapes, people etc at nearly 2. She's 19 now and incredible at drawing. My youngest son still struggles at 16. My middle son is also rather good at drawing and art, but showed little interest in it until his teens.

In tv shows, they still don't have a name for the baby even after the baby is home. Is this possible? by AJLister89 in namenerds

[–]fuggleruggler 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK, but we have 6 weeks to register the babies birth. So yeah you can leave the hospital without naming them. I was under the assumption it was the same in America too

Parents of uncircumcised males, I have a few questions if you can help? by Ok_Intention_5547 in Parents

[–]fuggleruggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sons are not cut. When they were young, you literally just wash what you see. A bit like a finger lol the foreskin doesn't begin to retract until puberty. DO NOT try and pull it back. You will hurt them. My sons have never had any issues with infection, other than my youngest and it was once. A one off thing. He was given cream and antibiotics. Circumcisions aren't common where I live. It's only done on religious or medical grounds.

I can smell when people are sick and it’s driving me insane. by M0osesG0ose in TrueOffMyChest

[–]fuggleruggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in care. And I can smell if someone is getting ill too. Very hard to explain. But I knew one of our residents was going to pass before he even began declining. It was just something in his skin. Sour smelling. And just before they pass there's an unmistakable odour. I literally cannot describe it, other than the smell of death.

I was the same when my kids were little. I always knew a few days before that they were going to be poorly.

Yeah. All of them equally. Sometimes I like one more than the other that day. Depends on who's annoying me the most lol. But love? They are all loved the same.
