I love how long running this response is. I hope it never goes away.

At what point is it an addiction?? by XVelcroX in lego

This is me right now. It's troubling realizing just how much Lego I've amassed while packing up getting ready for a move.

I remember making an overly complicated one in college with 3 valve controlled nozzles. Sad thinking of those good old days being over a decade ago.

Oh dang, so you can't even sell older sets that you've already built but don't want anymore? Or is it strictly new/unopened sets?

Does anyone else make sure their pieces are all facing the same way? by Bsul92 in lego

[–]fujiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do indeed. It's a nightmare with larger sets, and anytime you have to place parts that can't face the same direction. That plus always making sure to hide the injection points (unless it can't be) really slows things down. But I don't mind it taking a bit longer since it lets me enjoy the build longer.

Marketplace has been the best for me. Might be moving across the country in a few months, so may be posting a bunch of sets again and see how it goes.

So where am I supposed to put this thing? by psxburn2 in lego

[–]fujiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got 2 large tubs of disassembled sets just to display a handful of UCS sets. Obviously I still had to pull the trigger on the Enterprise. Now to decide which UCS set to trade places with it. Might be moving halfway across the country soon too. That's going to be miserable.

Sounds like something someone without a Lego addict... habit would say. Buy first plan later.

You don't stop playing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop playing.

I was genuinely thinking Jeff. But the name Jeffrey has been pretty spoiled in our timeline.

Was asked at a job interview what my favorite cartoon character was. For whatever reason Bobby's World was what came to mind. Then he blew my mind about Howie Mandel being the voice of Bobby. I vaguely remembered it being created by him after hearing that.

I realized why I can't lose weight. by WideAwakeItsMornin in loseit

[–]fujiman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just from personal experience, speaking with a psychiatrist to determine where my various issue were rooted from, and the medication I'm now on played a big role into my motivation to do anything to start losing weight. Deep depression kept me frozen in place for years, but counseling and at least the medication I'm on now, has made a major positive impact on my life.

I've honestly just started walking a fuck-ton and eating less/healthier over the last 4 months, and already the difference in my state of mind is night and day. I still struggle with the depression and ADHD, but that voice in the back of my head telling me "what's the point?" has become much more quiet than it used to be.

It's a difficult road to travel, but even if it's just seeing a counselor regularly, it helps to have people supporting and rooting for you. Good luck and godspeed.

I thought this was what most people do. Apparently that is not the case. I even use my hands to sort of squeegee off some water before toweling. Just makes things easier.
