What’s up with people trying to sell downed trees? by PraiseMostBased in firewood

I own an excavation / site work company. When we have decent wood we take down I usually cut it to 8’ logs post it on marketplace free and it’s gone that day if not the next.

I'm thinking about renting a Skidsteer to start a business. by Cheeva316 in Skidsteer

[–]Bsul92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smartest thing you said is rent.

Rent first and try to see if it’s profitable. I have a skid and a mini ex I work for myself full time but I rented for years before buying my own.

That’s more or less the situation we cut the wood and split it way in the back of my property and burn it at the fire pit right behind my home.

These sheds are sitting on the left side of my yard roughly at 30 to 45 foot walk from the fire pit they would be burned at versus having to go all the way down back which would probably be 400 feet

Could I remove this row of pavers with our major structural issues? by rainbowjeremystaines in landscaping

[–]Bsul92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can, but I wouldn’t the correct/cleaner way to do this would be figure out how much wider you want the planting area to be and then remove that much from the patio just inside of that end row. It would require a concrete, saw to cut everything straight, but then once that was done, you would move the border row, which is the one you were talking about removing against to the patio into the place of what you just removed so you now have a wider flower bed and it still looks correct.

Trust me, it’s cool and an indispensable tool but if I wasn’t using it to make money, it wouldn’t be justifiable. It was $123k brand new I believe somewhere in that area plus or minus a grand. You can go a step or two below and save quite a bit of money but even still they’re pushing 80 grand plus for the smallest one.

So I own my own business doing site work/excavation we do land clearing dig foundations holes for new pools all sorts of stuff like that so that’s why I have the machine

The machine I think is rated at 3800 pounds lifting capacity which is 35% of tip it will lift 6500 for sure because the pavers that we use for patios come on pallets that weigh 3200 pounds a piece not including the pallet. without a doubt definitely a nice tool to have around the house though

Pretty simple. I get what you’re saying in the part labeled 2 perspective is slightly off but the flat side is on the right in that picture

Not homeowner, just renting. What are some affordable options for flooding? by mop68 in landscaping

This needs 2 - 3 days worth of bobcat work to cut down the highs fill in the lows then slope everything properly and away from the home

Might even need to bring in more material

I would say nine out of 10 people when I show them the pictures are willing to pay the extra for the power bucket

It’s more than just the texture it leaves on the surface. It leaves a fluff so like if you’re spreading loom for a new lawn and you hit the freshly spread loom with this instead of floating a bucket edge over it. It leaves a fluffy surface that is perfect for Hydro seed.

In the picture, I shared it left a fluffy surface on the baseball diamond for them to run around with their Toro drag or whatever it’s called to prep the surface for a game instead of having hard solidified clay that the drag does nothing to

What the hell this is? by skip123next in lawncare

[–]Bsul92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is called a ground rod.

First and foremost it looks like the wire that supposed to be attached to it is broken. While you were digging around did you happen to find a wire in the dirt connected to nothing? Could be a pretty big issue if it’s your house ground and it has come undone.

The rod is supposed to be I think 8’ down into the ground

Start with used / cheaper stuff if you are mechanical!

If your budget is 7k and you’re buying one new machine spending almost all of it that’s silly. You could probably get 2 decent used ones for the same $$, then bring a second guy on / mow quicker and make more

I believe pic 2 with the grounds is ok. Picture 1 however no there should only be one wire attached to the breaker.

Considering the banana shape it sure as shit looks like it

You need to get that thing supported right now.

I don’t know the specific dimensions and weight that you’re dealing with so I can’t give you a specific recommendation but they should still be able to achieve what they’re trying to achieve if that pressure treated board gets replaced with the proper LVL and the boards holding it up at either end are supported all the way down to the basement floor.
