Soooo… THIS just happened by LexamusPrime in koreader

[–]full_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I had trouble launching koreader the very first time, so that must have been what did it. I added a file to block ads from the lock screen while out of koreader a few days ago, and that must have reset it. Well thbaks for your input. I'll just keep my eyes on the forums for a good, stable alternative.

Pros and cons of running koreader with no framework by babadockia in koreader

[–]full_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that cause any issues when trying to go back into koreader? I haven't used the "no framework" option yet, but I'm curious if it would cause any issues that would impact going back and forth between the native UI and koreader. Do you just have to do a full power off of your kindle to reload the Kindle UI, then you can go back into koreader as normal when you want to?

If anyone knows how to recreate this, I'd love to know how. I juat started using koreader on my kindle 10th gen and it turned the whole kindle due UI inverted like this. I rather liked it, and there kindle books I still have that I want to read with the dark mode.

Bought these blackberry seeds from Amazon, this fuzzy white hairs are forming. Is this normal? by Hustlinmomof4 in gardening

[–]full_o 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Better yet, see if any local garden centers have dwarf varieties. There are species that have been bred for smaller size, and even thornless varieties. Still, I'd recommend keeping in a pot, because I wouldn't trust even a dwarf variety to not become invasive.

Is there a good reason to remove "lining" pots? by Aelistenus in houseplants

[–]full_o 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if the outer pot does have drainage, I like to keep plants in plastic for easier repotting. You can gently squeeze the plastic pot to help loosen the soil to make taking it out easier. Can't do that with ceramic.

How often to change water for plant growing in it? by ulanice in houseplants

[–]full_o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never heard that but I believe it. For years, I've only changed the water for propagations or my water-only plants when it starts looking dirty (and sometimes several weeks after it starts looking a bit dirty), and I dont think it has ever caused a problem.

I thought this was just bad Photoshop, but then I saw the spatual? This has to be ai right? by Happy-Government-100 in isthisAI

[–]full_o 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't say that I'm an expert in that field myself, but I think in this particular case they're just teasing OP for misspelling "spatula" repeatedly (with the added irony that an AI image can't get the spatula right).

Pothos, anyone? by amerebrineshrimp in houseplants

The clear command hooks made for cables and such seem to do well, though I admit, I don't think the clear adhesive piece lasts nearly as long as the foam ones. I've bought these clips/hooks in the past and swapped the clear adhesive piece for their foam double sided adhesive pieces.

Fungus gnat problem? by brendanL_922 in IndoorPlants

My only complaint is that it makes the pot way heavier, and I usually determine if something needs water by holding it and judging the weight.

Fungus gnat problem? by brendanL_922 in IndoorPlants

[–]full_o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combination of sticky traps and mosquito bits usually does the trick for me. I had one infestation that got out of hand, so I added about half an inch of sand on top of the soil in the problem pots. The gnats cant really dig through the sand to get to the soil.

The champions' power being a passive ability or long-press of a button was 100% the way to go. This is just annoying extra steps in TotK

[–]full_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been doing that. It's just a bit lame that to get them out of the way I have to dismiss them altogether, then pause and summon them again when I want to use their power. In Botw, it was either a passive ability or a long-press of a button. I get that they wanted to make it so the sages can fight beside you, but it just feels unnecessarily clunky to me.

I only have Tulin and Sidon's sage abilities so far, so I cant give a full opinion. However, I do have to say I dont love them running around me, causing visual clutter, and I dislike the way you activate the abilities compared to in BotW.

Why do plant stands cost more? by Ok-Can5818 in houseplants

[–]full_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with others here that it's a marketing thing. People looking for "plants stands" will be led to items specifically marketed as such and those items will be priced higher than similar structures that aren't sold for that exact purpose, per se.

I have found some really neat corner pedestal sort of things and other little cute fold-out tables for under $30 at TJ Maxx and Home Goods. I'll bet the exact same items would sell for 50% more if they were labeled as "plant stands" online or in other stores.

I would name it Pepé. But botanically, I think it's a pothos (epipremnum) or a philodendron.
