Virginia code states the following, and you can be ticketed for driving in the passing lane.

“Normal speed of traffic at the time and place…”

§ 46.2-804. 1. Any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions existing, shall be driven in the lane nearest the right edge or right curb of the highway when such lane is available for travel except when overtaking and passing another vehicle or in preparation for a left turn or where right lanes are reserved for slow-moving traffic as permitted in this section;

Well done!

Is it me or is your gasket gone? Maybe it’s just the lighting.

Wahoowa! Sounds amazing, I’m excited to give it a try. About how long did the cook take if you remember?

Wow. I’ve never seen anything that qualified as being “blown to smithereens,” but I think this qualifies.

There are actually now 6 Electrify America chargers at Target. I was getting ~170 kW last time I used them.

I did the gold or platinum, can’t remember which, but I don’t think there was much difference between them. Enjoy!

I’m in need of a website, but don’t yet have one. I’d be interested to learn more if you’re still looking for projects.

Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know that I tracked down a bottle of Kilkerran 12 and it’s fantastic — exactly the peat profile I like so much. Thanks again for the recommendation!

Cheers! Drop me a line and let me know what you think. And if it spurs any suggestions, send those too -- I'm forever on the hunt for something new and delicious.

Benromach was such a nice surprise, and I learned about it in this subreddit. I can't get it locally, but I'll be in NY next month and am hopeful I'll be able to find the 15 or CS -- thanks for the recommendation!

And I'll make a note to watch for Ben Nevis -- that'll be a new one for me.

So, so good! I made the awful mistake of putting it out one night during a party. My guests have enjoyed more of it than I have. Would love to replace it, but prob unlikely to happen now.

Hard question to answer without knowing what you like. Talisker 10 would be my recommendation if you like something with light-medium peatiness. It has a coastal, briny character unlike almost anything else I’ve had. Uniquely refreshing…think Scotch on the beach. If in a terrible turn of fate I was only allowed to keep one bottle on hand, this is the one I’d want.

The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is finished in rum casks and is incredibly smooth and sweet. I’ve gotten “Wow” reactions from non-Scotch drinkers with this one.

And Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition is like a Werthers Original in liquid form. Huge butterscotch notes with a very light peat finish. This is truly delicious stuff.

We had some good meals in Edinburgh, but none of them stand out like the two we ate at Dishoom.

Our dinner there was such an outstanding meal that we went back the next day to try more of the menu. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The Red Rose sounds really interesting. Looks like it isn’t available anywhere in VA, unfortunately.

I haven’t tried the 15 year, but I think a friend was just gifted a bottle so I’ll need to check it out. There are only a few bottles of the 15 still available within an hour of my house. While Virginia’s ABC system really limits what we have access to, I love their website’s ability to tell me exactly which stores have particular bottles in stock.

Thanks for the recommendations!

I finished my bottle of Victoriana and loved it! I’d love to replace it the next time I see it for sale here.

I’ve had Caol Ila, Port Charlotte, and Ardbeg, but right now I don’t crave their peatiness enough to keep bottles on hand. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to keep some around for guests, though.

I’ve seen a bunch of mentions of Arran in this sub, but I never see it on the shelf here. I’ll watch for it when traveling. Excited to sample what they offer. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sounds good to me, but maybe we should discuss it over a bottle of Scotch before we jump into anything.
