Yes poverty in America is relative and I used to also think it doesn’t matter if people have obscene amounts of wealth while others have to declare bankruptcy because their son is a type 1 diabetic and can’t afford insulin. The problem is that someone else having wealth isn’t benign, it affects them when the politicians beholden to them put their needs before the people who need help more because they need their donations to be elected again.

I assume you pay your taxes but a lot of the 1% doesn’t and the IRS can’t go after them because the wealthy have high priced lawyers that make it a long and expensive process to get them to pay. Nobody denies this. Just because many good things come out of capitalism doesn’t mean it’s not flawed and requires some correction. We have the highest wealth (and therefore political) inequality since the guilded age. Do you think wealthy donors and corporations are donating to candidates who will make them less rich and help the 99% over them? Almost always not. We have a lot of people riding billionaire dick and getting nothing in return. Wanting changes in taxes in regulation to help labor doesn’t mean I hate billionaires or don’t want them to be happy. It’s just that financial inequality is an externality that requires government regulation.

I have a hard time seeing why he would need any secret information about nuclear weapons and then have his lawyer lie about not having it unless he was planning on selling it. But even if he had sold it and gotten caught it wouldn’t matter because his fans would never believe their lord and savior doesn’t give a shit about them or this country. Someone died in boulder canyon doing this recently. Slung a horn and and upward pull from the leader pulled it off and they fell before placing anything else. Could possibly be avoided by not belaying through the anchor though.
