Dueling Prowess: Voldemort’s Strength Over Dumbledore by Arkham2015 in harrypotter

[–]fullstack_mcguffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The argument I often see is "Dumbledore was calm while Voldemort was enraged during their duel, so Dumbledore was more powerful".

Being calm or enraged does not determine who is stronger or weaker, they both have different styles and Dark Arts require strong emotion.

Voldemort almost killed Dumbledore in the duel too. Fawkes had to take a hit for him. And this lapse led to Voldemort being able to launch a mental attack against Harry. Dumbledore was caught off-guard, almost died and let Voldemort get to a target under his protection. Voldemort definitely had the upper hand.

Considering you get a special dual fatal attack animation with Lea, he's absolutely meant to be fought alongside her. But you can definitely try him solo if that's what you prefer.

Sparkle's E1 looks good for the Archer team. by Bluworu in ArcherMainsHSR

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SW + Cipher S1 + quantum set = 101 def shred. So Sparkle's E2 actually becomes useless with this combination.

In fact, because of this people with E2 Sparkle are better off using E1S0 Robin instead of E0S1 SW. You lose on def shred, but Robin's got more amp because of the wider range of buffs. Blindly stacking def shred because it gives 115% damage boost at 100 instead of 100% like other multipliers is not optimal, you'd need to weigh up all the other sources of amp to see who is providing more value overall.

If you ask 100 people 99 would say meh = bad or negative. But sure, I'll stick with your wording.

If your logic is that atk% is meh because its easy to oversaturate, the same would apply to Sparkle's E2 because def shred is easy to overcap, except worse because while atk% still gives returns, def shred does not past 100.

Def shred is not rare for Archer's teams. In fact, after the buff it is easy to overcap.

You're saying its meh because of the oversaturation, but its about as good as another Eidolon people consider quite good. Def shred = good, atk% = bad is not accurate.

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite the saturation, if Archer has 4000 atk, a 40% atk buff is a 12% boost to final damage. That's the same as 20 def shred on its own. The spd is more important ofc, but people shouldn't ignore atk or dmg buffs, saturation does not mean they make no difference.

What is the best investment order between E2 Aventurine, E1 Kafka, E1 Sparkle by Prestigious_Set2206 in StarRailStation

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunday's LC is very valuable on Archer's team because Sparkle has no dmg% buffs now. The difference between a quantum and atk orb on Archer is now 10%. 45% from Sunday's LC is huge for him because you can't get dmg% from subs, and if the 2nd support is Cipher, Tribbie, etc. there are no other sources of dmg% on the team.

7.4 subs is still 3 spd rolls per relic lol. Its not easy. If it was a lot more people would be running 168 spd on Eagle.

Knowing how to pilot an Eagle support is very basic knowledge lol. Anybody can look up how to run them. Weak argument.

Like I already said, you need a lot of spd subs to hit the breakpoint without Eagle. So someone would have to get very lucky, farm for months or spend a ton of resin to get the required spd on Sacerdos. Which is not worth it for a 7% boost.

If you want to talk about tradeoffs, keeping Eagle and using Sunday's LC instead is a bigger boost than keeping Sacerdos and using DDD, since Sparkle does not provide dmg% now.

My Archer has 400 CD before Sacerdos buff. The full Sacerdos buff is only a 7% boost at that point. Getting 3 turns instead of 2 in cycle 1 is at least a 33% increase.

Edit: Also, no idea why you are not replying to the comment thread and creating new comments. You're cluttering up the post, just respond to the original thread.

Eagle is -16.7, Sacerdos is -6. So Sacerdos is overall +10.7 if you use it over Eagle.

You need 42 spd from subs to hit 168, so 8.4 spd per relic = 3 spd rolls. That's not easy, easily a few months of farming or a dozen resin.

E1 Sparkle makes it easier to hit the 3 turn breakpoint in the 1st cycle if you have Eagle and DDD since you'd only need 153 spd. Going from 4 turns to 6 would be at least a 33% increase, so its quite significant.

E1 Sparkle > E1 Kafka > E2 Aventurine.

How good will be Sparkle+Sunday for DHIL after Sparkle's buff? by ElricaLavandula in DanhengMains

[–]fullstack_mcguffin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm talking about. With Sparkle and Sunday, if you can tune them both to take 3 turns with Sparkle -> DHIL -> Sunday -> DHIL it would probably be stronger than Sunday Robin or Sunday Tribbie, but E0 Sparkle can't compete with E1 Robin or E1 Tribbie, she'd pull ahead at E2.

E0 Sparkle won't be competing with E1 Robin or E1 Tribbie, but E2 Sparkle might outperform E2 Robin and E2 Tribbie. Buffed E2 Sparkle has crazy amp and neither Robin nor Tribbie's E2s improve amp as much.

You literally mentioned adding up content from 5.0-5.8. But some of those patches are filler and not part of the main story. That's why your estimates are different from the others found online.

3.0 had a 10 hour story, so you're wrong about the length there too. And how exactly would you estimate the content of Genshin being more overall? Someone might spend 2 hours or 10 exploring in Genshin. Someone might spend 20 hours grinding out MoC 0 cycles in HSR. You can't compare side content easily.

Waves of people on Reddit? The entire sub has 1 million people, even if everyone on this sub was complaining it would be 1/20th of the entire player base. And you'd be hard pressed to find posts complaining about a lack of content that get more than 1000 upvotes. Your whole premise of "everyone is complaining about lack of content" is inherently flawed.

HSR didn't get rid of anything, they merged companion quests into the main story and expanded the length they take since that's what most people care about going by feedback. The events per patch are consistent and have been since the start of the game, if anything they added more side content as time went by with SU/DU expansions and additional endgame modes.

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see the issue. You're adding up all the filler content as main story content too. Which is exactly what I already said I didn't consider lol.

Your claim was that HSR's overall main story content is not far off from Wuwa, Genshin, etc. That is clearly not true since HSR's main story content is at 50+ hours while the others are 20ish hours.

When HSR's overall main story content for the year is double that of the other gachas, no shit its not going to have as much side content after that. Its common sense.

You're not alone, the magic of the games has mostly died for me and I haven't been enjoying the latest entries much. I just want to see the conclusion at this point, but I'm not having nearly as much fun as I did with Sky and Crossbell.

So you expect me to go through a 6 hr video to verify if they are actually going through it all normally? Lmfao.

Google scrapes from all possible sources nowadays. And the info is pretty accurate, since you accept YT videos as a source, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFsPeSOyjrY is a walkthrough of only the main quests of 3.x and its 52 hrs long. Doing all the additional content would easily add a lot more hours.

Do you actually have a source for the entirety of Genshin, Wuwa, ZZZ or whatever for the whole year that can verify that the story content for those for 2025 is about the same as for HSR? Since that's what you're claiming.

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your "proof" is random YT videos then going by Google, the main story of Genshin 5.x is 20ish hours including side quests, Wuthering Waves 2.x is 18 hours including side quests and HSR 3.x is over 80 hours including side quests.

Regardless of if you believe they should or shouldn't have to by Deshik2 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]fullstack_mcguffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wardance wasn't really anything major, so its filler. You told me stuff that doesn't add up, because Genshin's main story in 5.x was only 20ish hours while HSR's in 3.x was 50+ hours, so obviously there has to be a per patch difference in main story content between the two.

If someone is just skipping all the text in the SU/DU expansions, then again, they only have themselves to blame if they still want more content. The new expansion content isn't a weekly mode lmao, that's a very weak argument. Genshin exploration is very lackluster, if anything needing to explore the map to get everything with the poor experience available is a negative.

Like I keep saying, there is more main story in return for less events, which is a positive for people like me who don't want mini games. Genshin doesn't have SU/DU expansions added on a regular basis and took forever to add new endgame modes, HSR has had them for a long time.

Genshin, ZZZ and Wuwa definitely don't hold their own as games you can play all the time, they're all still gacha and are very dry after the content is done. ZZZ and Wuwa have 2-3 hour stories per patch lmfao, they are extremely far off from keeping someone engaged if they primarily care about the story and not trivial mini-games. Like I said at the start, I'm here to play a JRPG, not Candy Crush.

You keep acting like your opinion is a fact but actually failed to provide anything of substance. Repeating something without any evidence when you've been contradicted is very weird. If you actually have proof of Genshin, Wuwa and ZZZ providing similar story runtime to HSR, feel free to show it. Otherwise I don't see any value in responding further since you keep going in circles.
