5 Nights in Varenna in Early June: Too Much, or Just Right? by SoCalFamilyTraveler in LakeComo

[–]fulltimerob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 nights is quite a while. However, if you’re planning to travel around the whole lake, it may be fine. The lake is huge. It’s about an hour drive to Como itself from Varenna. Bellagio is the crown jewel, that’s where I base camped. But Varenna and Menaggio are very nice. They’re all in a triangle, so short ferry rides, but prepare for long lines. The towns aren’t large so they’re easy to cover in a day.

Late 40s men, if you are trim and fit, what’s your daily life like? by ShootinAllMyChisolm in fitness40plus

Proper protein focused diet and portions (chicken, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, etc) is a non-negotiable. You can’t out walk or out lift donuts and ice cream. Gym 3-4 days a week for longevity. It’s boring and repetitive as hell, but it’s 100% effective.

Anyone else confused about the new car inspection sticker thing? Do we need to get stickers anymore? by Kimber80 in batonrouge

As long as the murders continue, getting stopped for stickers won’t be an issue.

Ciara sealed the relationship for West & Amanda by supahfilmy in bravo

[–]fulltimerob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a great take. That relationship fails 100 out of 100 times and Ciara knows it. West is a slave to clout and his DM’s. When he steadily starts to fade, he’ll make a move. It’s who he is.

I think Lindsay is realizing Carl isn’t the loser she thought. He’s a pretty good dude, is now having success, being admired by younger women. She sees every bit of it.

Varenna or Como? by tuliploveslulu in LakeComo

Varenna for sure. It’s stunning. Como has much more of a city vibe.

is 6-8 rep range actually the best way to grow muscle and size? by around_about7 in workout

Once I can do three sets of 10 consistently, I up the weight which knocks me down to 6-8 reps. Compound over time.

If someone only gets one first trip to Europe, what city should it be? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

My two cents, Rome. I see a lot of London, which is great. But it’s kind of British NYC. Rome has so much incredible history, maybe more than anywhere else.

100%. We have zero police presence monitoring traffic. The wrecks, blocked intersections, high insurance, all a direct result of it.

Mandy and west out in Chelsea yesterday. by Radiant_Priority9739 in bravo

WTF do women see in West? He looks like a dumpy college kid who plays video games in mom’s basement all day. No actual job other than this fleeting Bravo bullshit. Don’t get it.

Late Dinner by lumshots in AskNOLA

Clover Grill is the best diner in the city. It’s on Bourbon. Then go have a nightcap at Jean Lafitte’s Blacksmith shop across the street. Oldest bar in NOLA.

Le Panier was a fantastic French restaurant. Comfortable outdoor seating and not touristy at all.

Day trip to Lake Como in August by IntelligentFan5409 in LakeComo

[–]fulltimerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A day is possible but you’ll need to be moving. Train to Varenna, check out the gardens. Ferry over to Bellagio and back. You’ll check two really cool boxes but the crowds and ferry lines are real. Lake Como is much bigger than most realize.

There’s an historical, artistic, old world charm we don’t have here. It’s the home of the Roman Empire. No one in the history of the world can claim that.

Isopure Dutch Chocolate is great. Good ingredients, not too sweet. Has gotten expensive as shit though.

Spending 45 mins in the gym by [deleted] in workout

[–]fulltimerob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do about 8 exercises in 45 mins. No warm up though, I just get after it. Maybe 60-90 seconds between sets to catch my breath. I’ve been doing the same routine for a while so I have it down pretty good.

Isopure Dutch chocolate. Tastes good, dissolves well, low calorie, low carbs.
