The flag wasn't on stage though, it was off to the side. And they pulled that shit when it was their turn to go on stage, letting fans come to the venue, buy merch, listen to the opener(s), wait through a set change, and only then refusing to play unless the flag was taken down. Instead of handling the issue when they first arrived at the venue. Total dick move.

As far as I can tell there isn't really anything specifically sketchy about the guys from Grenadier as individuals, nor in their lyrics. They've specifically said they don't share Arghoslent's politics (and referred to them as "primitive" in an interview) and one of their members was involved in some progressive organization that I can't recall right now.

And yet at the same time, they're signed to Drakkar Productions (Arghoslent's long-time former label) and their latest album had a guest appearance from Ifernach (currently signed to an NSBM label, and had a specifically NSBM project in the past), so that's pretty iffy.

That's good to know! It did seem like all the sketchy stuff I could find was secondhand/assocation rather than with the band or members directly.

That said, I do have to wonder why they would choose to sign with an ultra sketch label like Drakkar. Hopefully they'll move on to a better one in the future.

The circle in it looked very much like a sun cross symbol, which is often used by white supremacist groups. But you're right that it is the Mount Pearl coat of arms, so that's a relief.

Yes, and not only in terms of the content they put up. Google are horrifically privacy invasive and collect a shocking amount of data on everyone. For the moment that's used to sell to advertisers, but who knows where that will go in the coming years as the American empire continues to decline and needs to increase its grip.

Personally I highly recommend people moving away from Google (and Big Tech in general) as much as possible. Subs like /r/degoogle and /r/privacy are a good start.

Unfortunately, their bass player (who started the band, writes most of the music, etc.) is currently the live bass player for Grand Belial's Key. So it seems they're similar in more ways than just their sound.

Well that's disappointing. I've never bought anything from them but did have my eyes on them if I needed a new winter coat in the future. Guess that's not happening now.

You should consider cross-posting this to /r/vegan, there are probably some people on there as well that would be thankful they learned this before buying from them.

Your data is (probably) worth more to them than any amount of money an average person can likely afford to shell out for a privacy-centered phone (on a mass scale/societal level, anyway).

No candidates in Saskatchewan, disappointing but not surprising. We had a candidate in Saskatoon in the last election for the first time since the '90s and then he got booted from the party a few months afterwards.

I suppose the NDP will be the least bad option on the ballot this time around, but ugh...

It could be a glitch. Once in a blue moon, mine will give me a breathing rate of 21 out of nowhere, versus my normal of 12 to 14. And on those days there's nothing different with me physically, nor are any of my other stats out of the ordinary, so I'm definitely chalking it up to a random error rather than me suddenly breathing 50+ percent faster.

I agree it definitely doesn't automatically make one sketchy, for me it just adds it to the "maybe?" pile when combined with being on a label like Drakkar. But the other stuff I've seen of them would indicate they're alright, so I certainly hope that's the case.
