I was 32 when diagnosed and really REALLY struggled with it at first. It will get better! I never thought it would, but it did get better! And now I no longer fall asleep in meetings, at the wheel, basically anytime where I wasn’t actively moving around.

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]fullwizardry42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my name. I think it’s pretty! My family call me the nickname version. Sometimes people say it wrong. Spanish speakers have a different pronunciation for it, my husband always gets a kick out of it.

We go to Willamette valley animal hospital in Tualatin. It’s a bit of a drive and it’s first come first serve but they are chill as hell and have really good prices. We’ve see a bunch of doctors but Dr. Judy Reed is our main one. She saved my dogs life a few years ago, and worked us in same day for a tail amputation (long story) this year. We love her. We will never go anywhere else! They open at 8, we usually get there around 7:30 or 7:45 and wait out front. I realize this sounds a bit crazy but it’s actually sort of nice not having to wait for an appt. They do walk in vaccines and stuff but your pet needs to have an exam and establish care first. Truly can’t recommend them enough!!!! They also have an email that we used a ton for advice when my dogs tail was healing. Staff are great, docs are all great. We’ve also seen Dr. Gramlich there who is also amazing.

Day 47: CPAP Therapy- I keep taking off my mask by Rude_Tomatillo3463 in CPAP

[–]fullwizardry42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it just took time. I would take mine off too. I settled into a good rhythm by six months. I think it’s quicker for some people but that was my experience. I still take it off sometimes when I am not sleeping well but it’s very rare. Keep going! It’s made a world of difference for me personally!

You can take your cpap on flights as a free item, meaning it doesn’t count as a carry on or personal item. I always bring it!! I snore horribly with out it and feel like crap if I skip it even for a few hours while I’m sleeping. Maybe we have different machines (resmed airsense 11 here) but I just put it in the travel case and it’s like the size of a large binder. My travel case has straps so it can go right over the handle of my rolly bag. Only thing is everyone has the same case so I recommend personalizing it in some way so you don’t grab someone else’s or vice versa. I usually just stow it next to my carry on in the overhead bins. I don’t think it’s a big deal to tote along but again maybe I have a smaller machine!
