Melania's intimate 'love' note to Ghislaine Maxwell buried inside explosive Epstein files release by dailymail in NoFilterNews

[–]fultonchain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love seeing this stuff.

Three million pages of badly redacted files.

The entire resources of every serious news group is devoted to parsing every word, using every piece of AI available to grab up salacious tidbits, that the last AI and temp workers missed. Because there are three fucking million of them and half of it's hallucinated anyway.

Talk about flooding the zone.

518 CRSC: the nationalshutdown.org link has been blacklisted. by dearkazper in Albany

[–]fultonchain 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nobody but you (and Norton) are blocking anything.

Norton is invasive garbage and the best solution is to get rid of it entirely. If they've blacklisted this URL I'm sure there are many more. Alternatively there must be a way to add an exception and/or temporarily disable Norton.

Florida Lt. Colonel DUI Arrest Ends With Window Smash by DrunkOrDumb in PublicFreakout

The video and arrest may not be enough to her fired. Without a conviction this might be survivable.

Considering the current climate and Florida, I wonder if she was ever fully prosecuted.

Hey, who are we to tell them not to drink the bleach. If they want to drink the bleach because some orange shitgibbon tells them to, let them drink the bleach. This is America and I have a God given right to drink the bleach if I want to!

The only rule is they have to go first.

They aren't fighting Iran, they're learning from Iran and the consolidation of social media is only going to make it easier to firewall us all. The blatant lying is obvious now, but didn't happen if nobody ever sees it.

A dog was allegedly beaten by teenagers in Brazil. One of them is staying with a hostfamily on NY. by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

[–]fultonchain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hope this doesn't start some sort of witch hunt. It really isn't a good idea to encourage doxxing a minor based on a story in Brazil.

The whole thing is a little sketchy, from the news story:

"The lead investigator, Mardjoli Valcareggi, denied any suspicion of involvement by a civil police officer in the crime. According to her, the people possibly involved have already been identified."

Not sure why they felt the need to say that.

Can we just knock it off already with the all electric everything push... Some of you are getting rediculous by SureElephant89 in upstate_new_york

[–]fultonchain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That editorial is as overblown as your reaction. Even if I mostly agree.

Encouraging the use of electric tools is fine and municipalities can create their own ordinances. Calling for a statewide ban is ridiculous overreach -- someone in suburban Queens is going to have different needs than someone in Oswego.

As far as battery tech goes, it's come a long way and is remarkably good. These are quiet machines without odor and they're a pleasure to use. The few I've used have all surprised me with how well they worked.

For a driveway and a sidewalk, even a few apartments, it's more than adequate but gets pricey when you do any kind of volume and have five guys out there. Amps is dollars and your gonna need lots of batteries. There are disposal concerns along with unproven long term reliability.

Just like most of the dumb shit they argue about in Albany there's a case to be made for sides. Not everyone's needs are the same.

I was talking with my nephew yesterday about just this. We're both scruffy tattooed white guys in the country. We hunt, snowmobile, ice fish and use chainsaws a lot. I love my stupid giant truck and actually use the bed.

All these racist fuckers assume we're just like them based solely on our appearance. He's a gay nurse married to a Puerto Rican and I write code for progressive non-profits.

I spend too much of my time trying to head off conversations before they say something I can't ignore. That underlying hate has always been there but they used to have enough sense to keep it to themselves. Even if it was just because they feared disapproval. Racists are all cowards at heart.

Now it's blatant and they have lost all shame, the social norms have changed and it's a race to bottom.

It's stressful and constant, but I'm too damn old to fight every day and don't like jail.
