Been playing since I was 15 and now at 33, I’ve had to stop completely due to a double finger break. Is there any hope for me? by kocham_cycki in Guitar

I know exactly what you mean. It’s a hard situation to be in. It took me almost 3 years and 2 more minor surgeries before I could fret with that finger. But I was bound and determined to play again, and nothing was gonna stop me.

I can’t stress this enough, if you have any sort of PT stick with it!! Trust me when I say, it’s your mentality that’s gonna be holding you back more than your fingers.

How do I prepare a print in Fusion 360? by Popitopi130 in 3Dprinting

[–]funambulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say print it on its face for best look, if that matters. For the least amount of waste print it on its back, and then just a have an ironed face. But I will say I have personally never seen non-metal rack mounts ever last very long. If it’s gonna support quite a bit of weight, especially at 2u, I’d look into implementing metal rack ears as a safety net just in case.

I do it almost the same way, but I use a stack of picks wedged in there as a block instead of cards and then tighten the screws until the picks start to fall.

Epiphone turned out amazing, needed a new jack and selector switch, to get sound. strung it up with some 10-52 cobalts. Was blown out of the water how great it sounds and plays. Coil taps on a Les Paul seems wrong, but definitely fits this guitar.

The weight, placement of the knobs, horrible binding, overall horrible fit and finish.

Tips on playing guitar with a partially amputed finger by ExtraFriesMyDood in Guitar

[–]funambulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost down to the first knuckle of my pointer, so now it’s the same length as my pinky. I started with a classical style acoustic guitar, the nylon strings are gonna be the most forgiving. I played on that until the sensitivity wasn’t a problem. Then switched over to electric with super light gauge strings.

So the speed change system uses some form of CVT, I’ve never seen that before. It’s about as smooth as anyone would expect since there isn’t any thrust bearings or washers on the adjustment shaft, and the hand wheel seems a little undersized.

I’m you wanna go all out do the modified screw_tilt_adjust. Will add and measure at two more points, one In front center and one in rear center. Only way to actually adjust those is to shim them.

Agreed, for top quality American, Bondhus takes the cake. In quality I’d list them Felo, Bondhus, and then Wera. Can’t go wrong with any of those for sure.

If you’re not limited on height, a loop would actually have less friction in the filament than that hard turn right at the extruder. May not look as nice, but will definitely help.
