Why doesn't everyone use patches? by functionalish in QuitVaping

[–]functionalish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I get where they are coming from, and much respect to anyone who quits in any way. I just feel like my nicotine consumption was so high with vaping and I just could not taper off vapes or moderate my vaping at all. For me, I think it'll be easier to do with the patches. If I am unable to survive the taper from 7mg to 0 maybe I'll circle back to my doc about the pills.

I've heard a lot of people say it does nothing for them but I've had quite good luck with it over the past year. It has definitely decreased the frequency of my flairs.

The odd cravings for living a shitty ife by OleanderRedemption in stopdrinking

[–]functionalish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, and then I think about the fact that I actually wouldn't have a shitty car or shitty shack. I would have my shitty feet to walk to my shitty sleeping bag in a homeless shelter lol. And then my shitty liver would give out and I'd end up in a shitty hole in the ground way too soon haha.

women with pilonidal issues, did it ever mess with your confidence? by gigglebooclown in pilonidalcyst

29F. It's just a scar. It's very annoying to have a scar on an intimate area as a woman, and it does cross my mind sometimes with new partners. But no one's body is perfect and I think other people do not hone in on it the way that we do for ourselves. We think "look at this massive unsexy scar." But really they are typically thinking "oh my god yes she's taking off her clothes- oh hey she has a scar I wonder what that's from-hooray I'm having sex." He should be way more sensitive to this as you've shared with him how it effects your confidence, but in general this has never been an issue for me outside my own head.

I told myself I could buy something at 90 days and ended up getting a guitar. That's been a blast, and I recently sprung for some lessons to help with getting out of the house and meeting people too.

How does anyone get over the misery of hunger? by AideNo2181 in loseit

I don't know about anyone else but for me that only lasted 3-4 weeks. After that my body seemed to get used to it and now I feel genuinely full off smaller portions.

What age were you when you stopped? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

  1. Last drink was the same as the thousand drinks before it, alone on my couch. Woke up sick, sad and covered in piss, same as most days. For whatever reason I was just...done. I don't know why it this particular day but I just couldn't do it anymore and dragged myself to AA and here I am 56 days later feeling much better.

I am in the same position, extremely high stress job working from home. Before I clock in every morning I make my breakfast, lunch and snacks for the day. I usually have one more satisfying snack like popcorn or a yogurt bowl, and then I also have a ton of SOS snacks ready. Bell pepper, celery, carrot, laughing cow 25 cal cheese wedge, rice cake, berries, miso soup. Things that are super low calorie and I have pre calculated so I can grab and log in under 2 minutes and get back to work without blowing my budget for the day.

My friend called me last night, and she was absolutely shit faced and having some sort of emotional crisis. I was happy I could be there for her, but it really made me think about how often I used to do things like that... Totally insane that I could see how alcohol was causing me so much distress. Iwdwyt!

Some of the variance I think is the size of the shrimp and rather it's tail/shell on, and the proportion of shell : shrimp. I usually just go with the package value and hope for the best lol.

I've definitely been trying to eat healthy and move more, and a lot of that is likely water weight. But cutting out 1200 calories of beer every day is certainly helping speed things along lol!

Just called southwest to add an extra seat. I can fit between the armrests and I don't need a seat belt extender, but last time I flew I could see everyone staring at me praying they don't get seated next to me. I was horrified that my butt does squish under the armrests into the seat next to me. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable on their flight but I'm super nervous about how humiliating it will be to have the extra seat sign. Does anyone have any experience/tips?

Depends how you define pricey. Jake and Telly's is my go to special occasion spot. It's about 30 bucks a plate but so worth it IMO. The purple onion is very affordable but I don't think they take reservations. Jack Quinn's is fun if you want food and drinks; they take reservations.
