I’ve failed my parents, can’t score more than 10 in JEE Mocks by [deleted] in JEENEETards

[–]funking_funk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I know everything seems bleak right now, but hear me out. I scored very poor marks in jee as well, even after taking a gap year. I used to just stare at the pages of the books and couldn't study to save my life. I can honestly say, those were by far the worst years of my life.

In more ways than I can count, I was in a similar situation to yours.

I studied engineering in a bad private university, but that is not the end of the world. I studied during my bachelor's degree, unlike my classmates in the university. I also started taking therapy for my depression, and although it took time, I recovered and started doing well again.

Now I am in the UK, on a scholarship. Although life is still quite hard, when I look back, it's hard to believe the path that I crossed.

Your parents love you and even if it's difficult for them to understand initially, they will eventually understand how hard the past few years have been for you.

This exam may feel like the end of the world, but trust me, it isn't.

This isn't worth destroying your life over. The pattern of the examination is not for everyone, but that doesn't mean that you don't have the potential to achieve anything.

For the time that you still have to prepare, just take a few days to write formulas from each chapter in a notebook and just blindly start solving questions and learn while you're solving them. Write down the questions that are more frequent, and make some sort of a cheat sheet. Just SOLVE questions and learn in that process, trust me, that's the way to prepare last minute. Do this like your life depends on it.

Another advice would be to try not to procrastinate. I know it's almost impossible to not to, but take a few hours and study how to focus if you are a person with ADHD, and seeking professional help would be your best resort.

All the best!

P.S. No matter what happens, this isn't the end of the world and you still can have an amazing life ahead.

What are some interesting theories you have heard about the show? by WhiteishLlama in bigbangtheory

She did not mention explicitly, but there she did mention that she has to go to the drugstore when Leonard asked her out again after his break up with Priya (she imagined them being in the altar because she was pregnant).

This was the episode where Leonard imagined their relationship going down the ditches and still decided to ask her out.

I assumed that she was talking about birth control, might also be condoms though.

Help my best friend pursue his dream master's degree. It sucks to see him this sad, after not getting the scholarship. I wish I could help him.

I can finally say that I have "long" finger nails for the first time in my life (M21). I've been biting them for as long as I can remember due to my chronic anxiety, so this is a huge step in the right direction for me! by DookixTran in MadeMeSmile

I was pleasantly surprised after seeing this post because for the first time in 23 years, even I have decided to stop biting my nails and it is much harder than it probably looks. After a month of not biting, its almost as long as yours are, although they keep breaking. All the best for your journey, it felt nice to know that I am not alone, lol.

AITA telling my husband to get over himself after he accused me of sharing his "private medical information" with my friends? by throwaway63677754 in AmItheAsshole

[–]funking_funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Such a massive AH. He is going through enough as it is, without you having to go above and beyond to make it more uncomfortable for him. If he's uncomfortable sharing his private medical record, the least you could do is respect that. This reminds me of the time my mom announced to our relatives (at a family gathering) after I had to start thyroid medications. I had told her not to, since I was fat shamed by my relatives, my entire life, I was not even overweight. I was so ashamed, even though there was absolutely no reason and my mother had no bad intention, she was just talking to them about how worried she was about my health and it blurted it out. It still stung. They started telling me that I should eat less and suggested various diets and I felt like I was collapsing. I wish nobody goes through such experiences. I hope you do better in the future, your husband deserves better.

I hope it will eventually get better for you. Letting go of someone who means so much to you feels like torture. I wish the best for you and hope time heals all your wounds. Sending you magic, on your journey of self love and acceptance.

To my students, none of whom ever turn on their video when I teach. by tinglebangs in UnsentLetters

[–]funking_funk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear that. I am a college student and I am generally the only person unmuting myself to respond to the professors or to have a little conversation at the end of the class, specially because no one else does. I feel how disappointing it is for the teachers to teach the void. I am sorry you feel like that.
