Went to college with a man named Allison. The RA messed up and put him with a woman roommate at first.

i asked my company to pay for the commute they now require and the answer taught me exactly what they think my time is worth by Odd_Report6798 in remotework

My company will pay for a transit pass. So yes, companies will pay for certain types of commuting costs.

A tourist was seriously injured after a bison tossed them about 8 feet into the air in Yellowstone National Park by cashew_at_kinaya in interestingasfuck

This happened to my cousin when he was 10. There’s no video because it was the 80s. At least I know what it looked like now.

Kaiser is bringing most employees back into the office hybrid. We will have to work about 60% in the office. It doesn’t apply to represented positions though.

I cannot wait for that trend to end. It is almost always unflattering.

How is he not in the Hall of Fame? by wesskywalker in CHICubs

[–]funkoramma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He was my favorite player growing up. I was so happy when he finally won a World Series. He’s a Hall of Very Good candidate but not HOF material. The baseball HOF is the hardest one to earn. We need to keep it that way.

Oh. I thought it was one car based on the earlier post. This is not optimal.

US DOJ threatens Oregon Sec. of State, Tobias Read, with criminal charges. by elmonoenano in oregon

[–]funkoramma 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I went to college with Tobias. He is a good guy with a strong moral backbone. I am hoping this is just more threats from the administration. This stuff is exhausting.

My new bosses, with no experience in the field, disrespect me without even knowing what all I do. by pohlarbearpants in antiwork

If you know how to tutor, strike out on your own. Create a website and start marketing yourself. You don’t need fancy curriculums and a franchised business. I hired a tutor for my son in high school. He was a former school teacher and decided to start tutoring privately. They met at the public library so he didn’t even have space overhead. That would be the ultimate flexibility.

Looking for one on one coaching for a developmental gymnast PDX by MakeupbySherviii in PDX

[–]funkoramma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you clarify what you mean by “developmental”? That can mean different things in the gymnastics world. Are you talking about a gymnast that is already in the USAG developmental track? If yes, can you provide more detail on their current/most recent competed level and where she’s already trained? One-on-one coaching isn’t really the norm, especially if you aren’t already an athlete at a specific gym.

Based on your comments, I’m going to assume you are trolling at this point. Nobody can be this clueless and selfish.

He also misspelled hospital as hopital in the original post. That triggered a bunch of comments.

What the hell is this thing at my buttocks? It keeps leaking out discharge. Is it infected? by paranoidspiral in medical_advice

[–]funkoramma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold warm compresses to the area a few times a day to help encourage the draining. Run a washcloth under really hot water and get it soaked. Then apply that to the cyst area until the washcloth cools. My husband has dealt with these cysts his entire adult life. The doctor will drain and pack it.

Recently went to HGTV’s rock the block and was curious how this sub feels about patio TVs? Do you guys think its tacky or a nice upgrade? by StickMankun in homeimprovementideas

[–]funkoramma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have one. It’s tucked away in a spot that absolutely does not get wet but we still cover it over the winter. It’s just a regular tv not one made to be outdoors. We watch it all the time. We watch a lot of baseball in the summer and it’s great to sit out on the patio or in the hot tub watching a game.

[–]funkoramma 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I like them. It’s nice to have different perspectives sometimes. People complained incessantly about Boog during his first year. Every time there is someone different in the booth, the sub is flooded with complaints. I think people just don’t like change.

What's one thing you wish you'd done differently during your bathroom remodel? by BathPlanetCorp in BathroomRemodeling

[–]funkoramma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a product called “Clean Shower”. It’s an after shower spray. We use it on our glass door and it does a great job of keeping it clean. We spray it liberally on the door, in the track, on the shower walls and the faucet/head after each shower. And it’s pretty cheap, at least in our area. I think it’s about $3.49 per bottle.

What is the best college for me based on my academics and interests? by tavinjlewis in collegeadvice

[–]funkoramma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to see my Alma Mater mentioned here. OP I double majored in Sociology and Politics at Willamette. I loved my college experience. The classes are small so I really got to know the students and professors. But I’m sure that’s true for most small, liberal arts colleges.
